FFXIV 7.0 and WoW 11.0
Both are summer 2024. Looks like FFXIV announced their next xpac release timeframe first, and WoW followed up with an open beta before their official launch, and a full release after next august to snag players.
Just an observation.
Also… Pictomancer is now a class in 7.0…
They added playable Bob Ross?
Isnt the late summer/fall time frame the most consistent time WoW has historically done their releases?
TBC (Jan 2007) and Cata (Dec 2010) were the only ones ever outside of the Aug 30th → Nov 28th window. A 90 day time frame. 7 of 9 expansions.
That job is so silly. I guess I’m going to have to get back into FF XIV so I can play it.
It’s still less than 2 years for Dragonflight lifespan.

Cata, WoD, Legion, TBC were all less than 2 years?
They’re rushing the next xpac out the door is the implication. Although DF itself seemed rushed out the door too with launch day boat sinking and a whole month of people exploiting various dupes.
Although one could forgive that because… shadowlands.
It seems like we’re heading to a yearly xpac model for a more sustainable hype approach.
I have no words for that.
I mean. The implication here is that Legion and WotLK were rushed out the door.
Considering we have moved towards the low dev impact on the end of the expansion with fated seasons, if anything they have more time to work on the next expansion compared to previously.
Except we know we arent. It will probably be about a 20-22 month model. We know their target date for the next 3 expansions to wrap up is 2030.
That might be the point.
That game just sucks. Why they insist on inundating players in hours and hours and hours of cutscenes and story is beyond me.
The story is my favorite part of the game.

I’m glad someone likes it. I simply cannot relate to that.
I’m a huge jrpg fan because of the story. The grinding? Not so much.
What in the world is that? That’s a meme right? That can’t be real whatever that is!

The grind is the best part.
End game waiting on weekly gear/loot resets is why I unsubbed there.

FFXIV expansion and WoW expansion is apples and oranges. FFXIV expansion is a janky Playstation 3 visual novel, WoW expansion is a Legion reskin. They appeal to different kind of murder ape.
