On Windows 11 With Auto HDR. Do you like it? Is It "Better?"

I am wondering what other smarter people think.

I’m not smarter. It doesn’t seem much better, but definitely not worse. I can’t notice a difference most of the time.

I have to update my bios before I can even get Win 11. All of these warnings from the mobo website freak me out and I’m afraid I’ll break my computer. lol

are you sure its your bios? honestly if your computer hasn’t been built within the last 2 years, it prolly won’t even meet the requirements.

The only thing holding me back is TPM 2.0, which when I did research, was an “update the bios and you’ll be able to get TPM 2.0.”

Yea, just stating that if your hardware hasn’t been built recently, wouldnt support it anyway. Besides W11 is a cesspool right now, its rather annoying. Support for w10 is up till 2025, plenty of time for them to iron out things. (hopefully)

Can’t you update your bios from windows now? Well, maybe Windows can make a bootable bios update flash drive at least.

Everything else is over spec for Win 11.

Can’t get Win 11 for free after March. Why, I don’t know. lol

Not that I know of? I’ve got the directions on my mobo’s website for it.

There is an internet flash on certain motherboards, not sure if yours is supported or not.

This is why I haven’t upgraded yet. When people start reporting a better experience, then I’ll give it a look.

I reverted back to w10 during the grace period, it’s awful.

Yep! No idea what that means, but I have the directions for it. LOL

You may not even need to update the bios, it could be the setting is off. If you give me your board, I could tell you where the setting might be.

Mobo is ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0, bios is version P3.30 AMD AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.3 from 7/31/2019.

AMD or Intel

NVM i see it

Sorry! AMD

Used to intel’s stuff so i’ll give you some steps
Here’s what i found for yours:

ASROCK AMD

  1. Click on the Advanced Tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Find the option AMD fTPM switch.
  3. Click the Disabled option to the right.
  4. Select AMD CPU fTPM to activate it.
  5. Now the line item should say AMD fTPM switch [ AMD CPU fTPM ].
  6. Click the Exit Tab on the upper right corner of the window.
  7. Select Save and Exit.
