“ For each kill, you stand a 0.03% chance of seeing the thing. No higher. The only way to increase your chances of seeing it is to run it over, and over, and over again. It may sound like I’m contradicting myself, but look at it like this: When you roll a dice, you have an equal chance of rolling any number between 1 and 6 (a 16.66% chance). For each roll, you chance to see a 6 is 16.66%, but by the time you’ve rolled that dice 100 times, I’ve bet you’ve seen a 6 at least once. Which means you need to kill these bosses a minimum of 56,000 times. Now, you only have 14 chances to see this per year per character, so that boils down to 80 (for 50 characters) and 4000 (for just 1 character) YEARS to complete enough runs. For comparative purposes, if this event was available once a day, every day, you’d be looking at between only between 3 years, 9 months and 15 days (40 characters) and 153 years (1 character) to achieve the same number of runs. I know the appeal of the mount is the rarity, but still, when you consider that most boss mount drops hover between 2% and 0.1%, and allow 1 try no less than once a week, every week.”
From wowhead. Ouch. Many years.

its RNG, if you get it, congrats, if not, sucks but next year is next year
this is no different than any other low drop from elsewhere in WoW

Do you have a source? I’m not convinced it’s THAT rare.

Your name fits your post so well this might be clever bait.

Is it really .03%? I think .3% sounds more accurate
Those who have the love rocket have my sympathy in that they must endure riding around on a mount that will never be as cute as Hogrus.

The drop rate sounds about right, 0.03%, about 3 in 10000 rolls. On average, it should take 1 divided by that rate or 3,333 attempts.
Yeah gonna need a source on that as well. I don’t think it’s that rare either. I’ve seen it drop a few times now.

If I was a company trying to earn brownie points after a public humiliation, I’d raise the drop rate to 5%.
Free the rocket!

Nonsense. The rocket is the perfect mount for me.
Honestly They should just allow you to buy the love rocket or horseman mount from the holiday vendors. The drop rate is too ridiculous for holiday mounts

Watching people go crazy for this mount is like watching people go bonkers when there’s a big lottery prize.

They could make it be an insane (but doable) amount of currency if they want to make it harder.

The appeal of the mount (for me) is not having to run the stupid dungeon anymore
I’d be so happy not because I have the mount, idc about the mount I’d be happy I don’t have to set foot in that dungeon ever again

I have a friend who bought a bunch of tickets once when the Superlottoballthing was really high. It took me 10 minutes to explain to him that he really wasn’t increasing his chances by much, if at all.

My husband always says he has just as much chance of finding a winning ticket in the parking lot as buying one.

I try for it, but lets face it. That rocket mount is ugly.
I do use horseman mount on alts though

Wowhead
But no way to know for sure what the drop rate is unless Blizzard says it.
This is not how probability works.
- You can get it on your first attempt (or any other attempt) 0.03% of the time. It will certainly not require a minimum of 56,000 times, ask anybody who has the rocket. There is a probability of (1-0.0003)^56000 = 5.0438e-8 chance (very very low) of not getting it in 56,000 attempts.
- The average amount of die rolls before getting a 6 is 6, not 100. It is certainly not a minimum of 100 times to roll a 6.

Depends, when I say “winning the lottery” I don’t mean “Winning a $5 scratch off ticket” I mean “Being the sole winner of the Powerball Jackpot ($180m at the moment)”. I would wager that there are different odds depending on which lottery you mean.
