How do you manage to find the drive to level one? Ever since Legion, without the usage of a boost, I've found it kind of hard to want to level another character or different class.
Is there any advice that isn't spending $60 on a boost to get out of this rut?
My advice is to avoid lvling like the plague after the scaling patch
I just play a random alt or some alt chosen for a dumb whim for a few levels at a time, mostly.
It depends on how much 60 dollars is to you and how unfun leveling is to you.
If you view leveling as unfun as literally working a job, and you make 60 dollars an hour at your job, then the obvious solution for you is to buy the boost, 1 hour of real life work letting you avoid 120 or so hours of gameplay is a good deal for you in that situation.
Someone who makes minimum wage and views leveling as a mild inconvenience is going to get less value out of that boost. Depending on you as an individual, "Just buy the boost" could very well be the best advice you can get.
But outside of that, if you're really determined not to boost despite having 0 drive to do it then I guess try to zone out and have podcasts/talkshows/etc in the background. If you have a dual monitor set up then watch shows while you do your quests or dungeons. Try to actually keep your mind off of what you're doing. If you really want to play the class you're leveling at 120 then you should be able to make it and endure it.

Just grit your teeth and do as many quests as possible while waiting for dungeon ques.
I only leveled this because my friend wanted a hunter after Blizz destroyed shamans.
Leveling right now is garbage but there won't be any changes because Blizzard wants to sell boosts.

I post on the char I want to level to give me motivation. After 60 its been pretty enjoyable so I find myself hopping on her more
Buy a boost, blizzard doesn't want you to actually level your alts.

They most likely don't as some of the zones are so buggy / overtuned. Stv for bugs was so damn bad I almost was about to boost
Leveling is still just a mind numbing slog. If you want your heritage armor you don't have a choice gotta grind at least once per race.
If the armor is of no interest to you then buy a boost if you have extra cash.
Leveling with a friend makes it less of a hell.
As more races are added it'll just get worse. Buff loom exp bonus blizzard.
Fortunently i have plenty of toons to play or other games to play.
And the interwebs gives me an infinite number of things to watch or read.

im struggling to find the drive to knowing im also going to level in classic
I’m having fun with it. I’m going back through a lot of zones I found fun when I first started and seeing them again. It’s nice not out leveling stuff right now. My quests stay relevent so I can chain quests through the whole zones rather than having to spend time jumping all over the continents finding a level appropriate zone.
Unfortunately Blizz moto is " We know fun you don't" . Since the Stealth patch dungeon xp nerf it's all about them boost.
I don't even bother doing quests while leveling, I wait for the dungeon queue with sound running in the background and do homework on the other screen.
I still looking, maybe 8.1 will be better.
I got 12 alts sitting at 110 that I need to get to 120 at some point, just right now I have barely enough desire to play Avi let alone any of the rest of the crew.

I do this crazy thing where I take my time and enjoy myself. I took this guy through zones I haven't done in years (or ever). Working on Engineering as I go. Doing some transmog as I go. I hate end-game WoW, so the longer it takes me to get there, the more fun I have.
I hate leveling with a passion. I do it because that's what's needed to get to max level. Sometimes, if my wife and I are leveling together, it's more bearable. I play a Warrior and Resto druid, so I can incorporate aspects of those characters into the play to cover two people.
BFA is a disappointment because I shouldn't have had to start leveling my second character 2 weeks into the expansion. This process would normally be months after. Casting my mind back to my first WoW character, I think it had over 100 days played before I leveled another.

Ever since the start of Legion, or the end of Legion (start of BFA)?
In Legion, I leveled about 15 new toons to level 110. At the end of Legion, I had 34 level 110s, including 2 of every class and 3 of some. I used no boosts.
My advice? Be me! Every person is different. It was fun for me.
The good news is that they upgraded the leveling in 7.3.5. Since then, you can choose from 30 different zones (instead of 1 or 2) from levels 20-60, so you can level up alts using all new-to-you quests, quest hubs and zones. They also made dungeons much more fun.

I level when I am bored and they have full rested exp. Always with full heirlooms.
Use the streaming service of your choice and put on your favorite brainless sitcom or other show you don't have to pay much attention to and quest in areas that you've done so many times you don't even have to read the quests.
If your computer is like mine and can't handle video streaming and WoW at the same time, audio books are good, too.
It's surprising how fast the questing, and therefore leveling, goes when you're focusing on something else.
