OLED TV and wow risk?

I have a LG C1 oled coming by the end of the week. I still have a chance to send it back no questions asked. My primary game of choice will be world of warcraft. I play around 12 hours a week. I see all the razzle dazzle about its gaming performance and colors. But I have my current monitor on for 12-15 hours a day. $1300 is a lot of money to spend on something that ill need to babysit. Is it even worth the risk?

It’s entirely up to you, If you’re only going to have it on 12 hours a week the risk of burn in is pretty low. That being said I’ve seen lots of people defend OLED at all costs because of the picture quality, and the picture quality is unmatched. If you’re also playing games that support HDR or use it to watch movies the experience is incredible. It’s also the best option for PS5/Series X being one of the only TV’s that supports all the bells and whistles.

My first OLED was a B7 (2017 model) and after a year it developed a box in the middle of the screen. It was called the 25% issue and rtings did an entire episode on it. My parents have a B8 OLED that’s starting to show burn in (It’s been on a LOT since covid). My B7 was replaced with a C9 through Best Buy’s warranty and it’s been flawless so far.

I guess what I’m trying to say is there’s a lot of sugar coating about OLED’s on the internet and I’m glad I put a warranty on mine. I put way too much time into my PC to risk it. I have an Alienware X38 ultrawide monitor for PC gaming.
