Oldschool Runescaspe was going to die before Jagex started adding content to the game and improving the QoL for random stuff. Infact the only thing ‘oldschool’ about oldschool runescape is the graphics and combat system. Everything else has had many qol changes and content added.

Classic is outdated. That’s a fact that everyone needs to accept. There’s no good reason for it to take AGES to run across one zone. We need updates to keep this game alive.

Here are some QoL ideas for the next patch notes that should help with playerbase retention:

  1. Increase base movement speed by 50%

  2. More spirit healers

  3. Mana starts regening 3s after last cast instead of 5s

  4. Entry to dungeons are now safe areas

  5. No PvP for the first two weeks

  6. Can access your bank through auctioneer

  7. Minimap logos for everything

  8. Dungeon/raid journals to see what loot you can get and the bosses in there along with

  9. Dungeon maps

You might want to hide that guild tag if you want people to actually take the bait. Otherwise, I think it’s pretty likely to work!

Wouldn’t be terribly opposed to a dungeon map, honestly…time to invest in a second monitor.

Actually as someone who played OSRS for many years, not much has actually changed to the game. Just more content was added.

This might be a list worth revisiting in 2 years when they have finished rolling out all 6 phases of Classic. But 1 is too big of a buff it defeats the purpose of mounts. 2 would be a nice QoL but makes death less punishing, death being punishing feels good to me. 3) Why? This just makes the game easier for no real reason. Play around your limits or gear better. 4) If you mean safe from PvP stop trying to take away PvPers fun just roll on a normal server. 5) Same as 4). 6) Sounds nice but bankers aren’t far from auctioneers, either set up a bank alt for all of that or learn inventory management. 7) Ask a guard. That would be nice but there is a current work around. 8) Acceptable and maybe one day. 9) No comment. I don’t care either way.

  1. Flying mounts
  2. Daily quest that reward badges you can buy epic gear with
  3. Looking for group tool

Is it because you like the fact that it is easier to get answers to troll posts (even if they are to bash you… masochism?) or is it because you are mad people are enjoying Classic?

It’s worth noting. It took a decent bit. IIRC, about 2 years? Before any significant changes or newer features were fully added to Old School Runescape, IE, the Grand Exchange.

So while the game losing a ‘lot’ of players in a couple months / after Naxx is cleared is a very real possibility. I don’t feel that “Classic +” Features have to be considered until about then.

Yup game was complete dead before they added GE then GWD. And the # of QoL changes is crazy along with construction update, the game is 10x easier than it was in 2007.

Classic needs the same treatment. Plenty of QoL to keep the game alive.
