Just curious what the oldest guild that’s still around might be. Ours was founded on March 27th 2005, can you find an older one? While in game you can type /ginfo
to find out
The oldest guild would have to be whatever Asmongold is in. Which would be Indestructible.
But not sure if it’s considered active or filler.
Oh, wow, is his guild his original one? Not one made later?
No idea. But I remember my Fabled Order days. Back when I was on the Twisting Nether realm.
That was also a time I was a Nelf Druid named Dranom.
I have several guilds from vanilla. I’d have to check the dates later.
I’d be excited to see the dates. I’m kind of hoping someone has something from the week of launch, that would be killer
Actually, my memory failed me. I forgot we had to transfer servers so the earliest one I have is 1-6-2007.
Ill have to check the date now but ive got a guild that i made midway through vanilla. Its not active. One guy has been offline for 18 years. Its like a time capsule.
18 years?
That guild is almost older than me.
Mine was created on the same day that WoW launched; 11-25-2004 (though I wasn’t one of the original members). Having said that, we haven’t had more than 3 or 4 active members for quite some time.
You can see the founded year on the armory.
I don’t know how to find exact dates, but I know our server has several original Vanilla guilds still. Some are even still active.

Old memories.
dang even the guild leader still plays after 20 years… wow he seen everything lol
Clan Blackhoof - Cenarion Circle
created 12-27-2004
still active
My guild was found on September 13, 2005.
I’ve been around since December, 2005. It was my first, and only guild, that I’ve ever been in.
Unfortunately, my server became pretty dead in the last days of MoP, and it’s never recovered. Skywall has been connected to, like, nine other servers! That’s how dead it is.
I’m still working up the nerve to transfer my guild to a more lively server. I’m afraid that if I do transfer my guild, it’ll get its founding date “reset” and I’d lose that founding date…
Death and Taxes still exists on Korgath. They were a day one (November 20, 2004) guild largely made up of old EQ players. Nurfed on Tichondrious is famous for their guild leader getting the legendary neck which was supposed to be a placeholder for the Thunderfury Bindings. They’ve been around since 2004. Vodka was famous for being the first guild on a PVP server to open the AQ gates and some world firsts in AQ. They’ve migrated servers a few times (started on Manoroth) and switched factions a few times but have several players from launch still in them.
My guild has been around since June 1, 2005.
They did not do that alone! A lot of us helped with all the turn ins. It was a server wide thing. We were all quite pleased to be the first PvP server to get AQ open.
I was sad when Vodka transferred though. I get why, but still sad.
Oh yeah I know it wasn’t a solo effort. I remember old server forums that were separate from the official forums just to coordinate the war effort. I just knew you guys were the first to open a PVP server. I believe second overall behind Mehdiv? I was on Mannoroth briefly with Reckoning for the tail end of WOD and the start of Legion until they stopped raiding.
I was with Operation CWAL back then. (there is only a placeholder with one char now). Then there was a raid team split which I went with.
Lots of collaborative efforts, raiding alliances, etc. There are some of the original folks on their original chars still around. My main is one but is long retired from raiding content.
i know ion hazzicosta’s guild elitist jerks on Mal’Ganis US is still active and they raided hardcore in vanilla, not sure of the exact date of its creation, though.
armory says founded 2005 but no exact date, though.
