Old WoW friends

Does anyone else miss playing with their old WoW friends? like you had that one person you’d always play with or had a small group where you’d just always hang out with others? I haven’t spoken to them in years and i miss playing with them as a kid. i only stayed in touch with 1 until recently. Nostalgia is kicking in

Yup, had a great bunch of folks I hung with. Did some really fun things in game. Then life happened, marriage, kids… just a solo filthy casual now who’s in game problems can be solved with ‘get a guild’ …

I think about them from now and again. I have not seen them in years, Wrath I think.

That said, I do still have guildies that still play since the dark ages. So we get to commiserate a bit as well. Pushing 20 years. Still don’t know their names :).

Some, for sure.

A good group of gamer pals is kind of like being in a band in some ways. when that magic starts clicking you miss it when it’s gone.

This sorta happened with my group. here’s a good message, never date within the friendgroup. never works out good

There’s one WoW friendship I miss, but I think it might have been the codependent, talk-all-day, play-as-much-as-we-can-together relationship that I miss more than the person herself :upside_down_face:

Ah good ol’ Guild Drama. One of the true tests of how long guilds and friendships last in this game.

Still play with my son , since wrath. Have several of our old guild mates from then that have come back and play with us now. Now quite full circle , but close.

My guild has been around since Vanilla. The people I still play with I met in BC and Wrath. But my best friend stopped playing four years ago. I miss him. And two members passed away, so we miss them, too.

But I’m lucky in that we’ve all been together for so long.

No. Any type of relationship requires 2 ppl making some effort. If life gets in the way, someone let it

The best RNG I have ever had in the 20 years Ive played this game is when i met my wow friends in TBC. Only 4 of us still play and I am thankful everyday that we came together.

Back in a cataclysm private server I had a guild that was named Immortals of Azeroth, those were the greatest’s moments I had playing WoW. I have never found any guild that comes closer to the bond I had with the members of the first guild

Brothers and old boots
Treasures from the past

I am the last of my “real life” friends playing. I used to play WoW with a friend after work at his shop/office - we’d grab some fast food and play for a few hours. It was a lot of fun, I miss that. I also miss one of the guilds from BC/WotLK days - when I did most of my regular raiding. Plenty of nights on vent and lots of great conversation as we progressed. Nowadays I don’t have the time to raid / hang out like I used to (work, family) but I still enjoy the game when I can.

Sometimes I do but then I remember what they were like in real life after I met them.

There’s only really one left that I still consider a friend ,more like a brother and he plays when he can and we’re neighbors.

Other than him, don’t really miss the others .

The only thing I miss playing vanilla WoW in 2005 was my friends.

When I tried out classic servers, I pretty much realised how painful classic wow was to play, especially without friends :frowning:
