So I made a post in my old thread regarding old world scaling on the N’zoth Forces mob High Executor Yothrim who at the time of my posting was showing as a 434000 health rare mob.
Tonight I happened to pass him, remembered that I made a post about him and came back to compare. Turns out, since my ilvl has increased since then, so has his health. He is now showing as a 438000 health rare. He is level 52, why is he continuing to scale with our ilvl?! This is all kinds of messed up! Please blizzard stop this scaling madness! Mobs NEED to be capped at their own level!!!

it seems 51 rares are super easy to kill while 52 take ages or are unkillable solo lol

no kidding. i’m bored of SL content so i’m back to farming random mounts from old expansions until my sub expires. figured the Bee grind would be more tolerable now @60. nope. took me like 5 minutes to kill the Honey Smasher. wtF!

Simply put, there is no reason for mobs to scale with your gear.
Lorewise there is none.
RPwise there is none.
Gameplay wise there is none.
When you can smash gods a random world elite should not have 10 times your health.

the same question could be asked of shadowlands mobs, i decided on my third character to level through world quests, and they are tougher then if i followed the main story line.
on my warrior mobs were like stupid easy to burn down through story line, on my paladin. they take 3 times longer to kill.
I think a better question is this: why is anything scaling with our ilvl?
And the follow up question: what is the point of ilvl, and inceasing your ilvl, if your gains are negated by enemy ilvl scaling?

there is a rare spider in redridge mountains gnollhunter that scales with your level.
There is a rare spider in my garrison from three expansions ago that is scaling to level 60.
We’re months into Shadowlands now and at this point I really have to call this as an intentional decision by the devs.
A very, very stupid decision, but an intentional one.
Players have reported low-level mobs scaling past their levels for MONTHS.

there is also 2 random dwarf farmer npc’s near the ruins of menethil bay overlooking it that scale to your level as well. none of the other old world pvp npc’s do that save for the guards.
Right? Scaling to iLevel was a crazy stupid design decision. A gear upgrade isn’t really an upgrade if your enemies upgrade their stats too, lol. What were they thinking with this idiocy?

Go back and read the old forum posts about people who were cheerleading the scaling of old content “so they could play with their low level friends.”
It was BS talk then and it is BS now.

This needs to be presented to the panel at BlizzCon, and if it is intended, ask them why?
Scaling should only happen when a max level friend party syncs with a lowbie, and that max level guy scaled DOWN, not the entire world scaled up. Wouldn’t that have been the more intelligent approach?

I’ve level locked on my new char @ 50 and the older content is super easy. There is something about 50+ and the ilvls you gain that throws things out of whack.
The same people who were cheering for the removal of flying… despite having used it for years and never once considering it a problem. It wasn’t until the WoD team decided flying was a problem that these trolls found a bandwagon to jump on.
And a bandwagon it was. Some people are just contrarians. Any controversy, no matter how stupid and contrived, they will take the wrong side, on purpose. The whole reason they get involved is for the sake of antagonizing people.
I dont know if this is intentional because they need us to waste time in wow for metrics and quarterlies to look good. OR if this intentional and will be ignored till they get one expansion ahead of the level squish. Im guessing that everyone goes back to level xx will be a new thing in wow and happen every expac so they can keep it all tidy and put expansion in a little box on chromie. Maybe we will go to level 70, then back to 60 from now on and that will be there fix. Who knows. Im sure it will be ignored and glanced over at blizzcon.
