Sad day. Got my first world boss loot drop this expansion, and it was from Shurrai. Behold my surprise its season 1 loot. 
This is how it has always worked, besides season 4 in Shadowlands and Dragonflight when 1 world boss would get buffed for the week.

Guess I’m used to DF. Was used to both world bosses giving current season gear.
The new world boss in Undermine drops a piece of loot guaranteed for your first kill weekly. Doesn’t look like your alts get any after though (I could be wrong but so far a lot of people are saying their first kill they got loot, subsequent kills did not). The piece of gear is warbound and can put in your warbank, but sadly, it could be any armor type. So you could get cloth, leather, or mail as a paladin.

It’s one piece of random armor type Warbound loot per week, per account. So doing the new world boss more than once a week is useless. Doing the other world bosses is also useless since it still drops season 1 gear.

Pretty sure earlier season world bosses in DF only dropped updated loot during their rotation in the Awakened season. Otherwise, they were still treated the same as old raid bosses.
