there are a lot of other patterns than the Tier 3 items and you get one guaranteed each run and you can usually sell them for 10k or more if you don’t want them. Plus I find it quicker to run Naxx each week and get 5 of those patterns you want for every 2 characters run though Naxx because you can earn currency in Naxx you can convert to Argent Dawn tokens to use to buy those patterns too.

Enchanting the journal grants the achievement “Memory of Scholomance”, which grants access to old Scholomance for all characters on your account!
Now it does not actually say that alts will get stones once they can access old Scholomance - I have based that understanding on what people here have said.

After entering the dungeon through the front gates (not the side entrance!), patrol the streets until you encounter a stealthed Eye of Naxxramas. Killing it will yield 
Ward of Naxxramas, but don’t use it right away.
As you make your way towards the Crusader’s Square, loot any Stratholme Supply Crate you see until you have at least 2 
Stratholme Holy Water. One for now, one for later.
In the Crusader’s Square, use Ward of Naxxramas, then head to the Southern Gate until you spot the Dread Ward of Naxxramas.
Using Stratholme Holy Water on the Ward will give you the debuff 
Sleight of Hand, which will serve as the timer for what comes next: Stratholme Speedrun!
Living Side Route | Dead Side Route
You’ll need to make your way from the Crusder’s Square all the way to the end of the Slaughter Square, killing all 3 bosses in the Gauntlet, and even Lord Aurius Rivendare.
Once you’ve completed the run and slain the Baron, head through the South Gate of the Slaughter Square, and use the extra action button to slay the Hand of Naxxramas.
If you’re successful, you’ll need to return to Light’s Hope, and talk to Archmage Angela Dosantos. Exhausting their dialog and completing the quest they offer will give you 
Wards of the Dread Citadel, unlocking account-wide access to the secrets found within Naxxramas.
Note: Access to Scourgestones also means access to 
Archived Crafting Techniques, which Crafters will want to get their hands on. They’re purchasable from Quartermaster Miranda Breechlock for 
Argent Dawn Valor Token x6 each.
Step 4: Guess Who’s Back, Back Again
Note: You should now no longer need to have 
Argent Dawn Commission equipped to loot Scourgestones, as Empowered Argent Dawn Commission should be applied automatically to all your characters when they zone into Old Scholomance/Stratholme/Naxxramas.

I will go back when I am feeling energized and do that part of it.
I think once you do that you should be set. I know I made a bug report about the same thing and all I wrote on it was NVM once I got the achievement everything worked but not what achievement. But you get an achievement for the part Nobully is indicating. I think that part also opens up the Naxx portal too though.
it might take a few goes to beat the timer, so hang in there.
(i was almost ready to give up after the first try, but i have zero patience) 
if you use three speed enchants it makes it so much easier.
