Hello, I just discovered raid finder NPC’s and I think its cool how WoW set up a feature for players to go back to old raids and solo them for transmog loot. That is, until I got to Legion and BFA. So my question is, was Raid Finder created with a group in mind or was it designed for solo runs? I just assumed the latter since this is old content and the majority of bosses I fought were beyond easy.
Until I got to Eonar in Raid Finder/ Antorus, the Burning Throne. This was the first boss that instantly one shot me so I looked it up, followed everyone’s advice, but the timer always runs out before I’m even half way close to finishing the boss fight and its a one shot instant kill every time. No big deal one boss I can’t defeat, boohoo I move on, then there’s Kil 'jaeden in Tomb of Sargeras, I can’t beat him on mythic, he always knocks me off the platform, once again I watch the youtube videos and I am not skilled enough to mimic whatever it is they are doing to win. It sucks, but oh well, 2 very old bosses, no big deal, moving on.
Then I get to BFA and here’s where I’m really starting to question if Raid Finder was ever intended for solo players because the language in the Adventure Guides basically reads where multiple player must be present to deal with boss mechanics that will lock up a targeted player and if you are solo’ing it, then you are that unfortunate targeted player and the raid is not possible to complete.
Am I the only one who misinterpreted what old raid content raid finders are for or did WoW just forget this feature existed and created raids that could never be solo’d if a person tries to use raid finder by themselves? Like why even let me in the raid if that’s the case? Like why can I talk to the NPC and they let me in alone just for me to be stuck in a boss mechanic nightmare. I’m just confused on how this feature is intended to be used. Sorry if it’s a dumb question.
