Old raids difficult to solo?

Have they made any changes to these in recent years? I’m talking ones like the chess event in Kara, I’ve never been able to solo it, and I believe eonar in antorus. Is most of BFA or shadowlands doable yet? I can’t imagine n’zoth would be possible unless they made changes to his mechanics

Last time I did the kara chess it was easy. I thought I’d had to look up a guide but I never had issues with it.

Can’t speak on the rest though, did hear Eonar is still a nightmare to solo.

Some fights are disproportionately annoying, but in general everything up to shadowlands is within reasonable bounds. Eonar mythic is on that annoying but doable range. Dragonflight raids are entering the soloable range as well, though there are a few fights that are mechanic limiters like diurna.

all thats left is for the midnight squish to kill our power once again like it did in BFA and SL couldnt solo legion raids at all

I can solo all of BFA and shadowlands raids np. But bm hunter is def on the easier side of things too

I don’t remember how I soloed the chess event, but it took me a couple of tries. I think in the end I just used the king piece and killed the other king no problem. You definitely can solo it though.

The ones you mentioned are definitely soloable.

Both the chess game in Kara and the Eonar fight require you to do them a specific way, but they aren’t difficult once you know how.

Eonar specifically, is a lot easier on a spec that has good movement speed or boosts.

These two, along with Spine of Deathwing, will likely always pose a unique challenge, though I’m not aware of any recent changes making the more difficult. They’re all very doable. Eonar is probably the biggest challenge, especially if you go in not really understanding the basic premise of the fight. Check out a few YouTube videos and go back in and try. Once you have a basic rhythm, you may still fail occasionally, but you’ll be fine.

Eonar has to be done in an exact way an order for it to work. You have to kill specific mobs (not all of them) in order to trigger the events where she clears the map. Every wave you have to kill the big artillery adds and one specific demon dog.

Eonar is relatively easy if you follow a strategy, but it’s not the brain off whack target dummy that most legacy farmers want every boss to be.

For some reason even at lvl 80, you can’t solo the DF raids. I tried Vault of the Incarnates because I want the Blue Mage Transmog and I kept dying on the first boss.

Everything up to and including SL is totally soloable as far as numbers are concerned. Some bosses do still have mechanics to deal with though, either to avoid a funny one-shot or to clear the encounter at all.

DF isn’t considered legacy yet, so don’t worry about that expansion too much.

thats the heroic set

yeah the heroic wont be soloable until next expansion at least

maybe longer since we got a squish coming with the expansion which always throws a wrench into anything solo

I can speak to SL raids. It’s hit or miss for mythic levels.

I can solo on this toon, but if I try it on one of my other 80’s without gear, it’s impossible. Even if I have a friend with me.

I’m hoping after Midnight is released, they will be nerfed.

the chess event is really random.

a LOT of bfa dungeons and raids have mechanics that due to scaling have made them impossible. even on the lowest setting.

Be interesting to see how they move the goalposts on that one too. Last time it was “you had corruption effects before, now you don’t.”

This is at least a year out of date.

SL has had the legacy mechanics changes (although, some of these only apply if there’s only 1 person in the raid), the raids there are just numbers checks (Either you can kill them before they kill you or not). Which will get easier at level 90 in Midnight, just due to level 90 characters doing more damage than level 80 characters will.

I think players here really underestimate exactly how much power corruption was.

That’s weird, because I just went through all of BfA with my husband on mythic level and it was no problem. We got hung up in SL with other alts, but strangely not this toon. We’re farming mounts, so we are rotating through several alts.

Based on that post, I’m pretty sure Bread hasn’t tried any of the BFA raids in about 2 years.

No. I mean there were people who didn’t use corruptions at all (they always cleansed them because they had no interest in leveling the cloak) finding themselves just as weak in old content as people who had corruptions.

It was just another lie to excuse the fact that “after the squish you will be just as relatively strong as you were before it” didn’t pan out.
