Old raid/dungeon "transmog/mounts/pets/reputation" drop hurts the game

Let’s be honest: we are tired of farming old raids/dungeons that came out more than 10 years ago and not drop what we need!

What is the point of time-gating some low poly/low resolution shoulders from TBC heroic dungeon through HORRIBLE RNG?

Alright, here is the deal: How many of you are tired of farming an apperance, pet or mount that never drops?

Like Al’ar, Mimiron’s head or Invincible that came ou when you were on High School and now you are 30 and still havent drop it?

Wasting your time listening to the same RP event from Dragon Soul/ICC/ Tempest Keep/Black temple and not drop what you been looking for?

Its a WASTE OF TIME, I feel disrespected as a person and you should feel disrespected as well, because your time is precious.

Ask any player trying to farm bindings of the windseeker, that bracer/belt that is left to finish the transmog set you want or in my case, Blazing Drake from Dragon Soul. Instead i droped Life-Binder Handmaiden for the 4th time since the skip is only on heroic difficulty.

I dont want anything handed out to me in a silver platter, but i also dont want to spend hours switching between alts farming an old Low Poly mount/armor set that came out when the “make love not warcraft” south park episode came out.

Alright here is the solution i bring you:

We need some kind of system that rewards players from their efforts and skill, like any normal game does.

A meta achievement that compiles all the adventures the player had and proves that there is nothing left to do in these places (raids/dungeons).

Here is an example, a meta achievement where you need to: Be the expansion loremaster, explorer, all have glory of dungeons and raid achievements and at least a handful of exalted reputations with that expasion.

Done, it proves you played the game enough to deserve not having to farm for hours at the mercy of an outdated RNG system developed to enslave players in eternal grind to keep subscription numbers up.

Im tired of searching custom/legacy raid groups and only see “TRANSMOG/MOUNT FARM” i dont want that, like most people i have more than 100 runs of these raids and i still dont have what i want from them.

I want the community to play together and do achievements like dungeon/raid glory.

NOBODY IS DOING THESE. Because the reward is not interesting enough to gather people and do it.

So these meta achievements im asking is not only a way to reward players for their time spent in the game, but to make them come together more often to challenge themselves.

You’re absolutely right!!! I hope the dev team can see this post and do something about it! I wanted to add something to your line of thought, but I think you nailed the problem perfectly!!

No thanks, I like some items in the game being rare. If everyone is special, nobody is special.

its not about being special, i made that clear in the post, is about making a healthier way to reward the player.

And making so players stop solo farming or stop spaming transmog/mount run groups, and doing achievements instead.

Players can police their own limits.

There are plenty of ways to be special in the game, Ahead to the curve, M+ Rating, PvP rating, all those things actually makes you special, they require skill, A mount that has 0.7% chance to drop that never drops doesn’t make you special, example… I mounted on al’lar then other 5 guys did the same in the RBG, the other didn’t because they have been c*ck blocked by terrible RNG.

Those mounts are Cutting Edge rewards for raiding, as I mentioned. They drop to ~1% after the content is no longer current.

So by your own standard of being a skill reward, they should remain as they are. That they remain obtainable at all after the content is current is a bonus.

How 4% or less drop rate has anything to do with skill?

Just because you got a mount 10 years ago that does not make you special.

As I said, a lot of people waste their time farming old raids trying to drop these mounts/pet/transmogs instead of playing with other players killing the community in the game.

Im trying to come up with a way to reward players and make them do more achievements together but you cant even reason on why its good as it is in a way that is not self serving to you.

You are not right, you are a gatekeeper and when the game dies for lack of active players, its on players like you that like to circle-jerk outdated achievements that no one cares about.

You forget how successful was pandaria remix was, due to all the rewards being accessible to players who put effort into obaining them.

None of your arguments help the game or the comunity. You just care about some vague elitist rewards from a time long gone.

I agree with OP, RNG is not fair or skill based. One people could get it after one run and another player have 200 and nothing. They should either add bad luck protection so that it guarantees a drop after a certain number of unsuccessful runs or make it a reward from a bigger Meta achievement.

The original mounts were 100% drops for Cutting Edge raiders. That they remain in the game at all is a bonus.

The melodrama is real.

The game can have both limited time rewards for players (that they come together to accomplish as a community…), and new achievements and rewards that “bring communities together”. Having both is important.

Yes those mounts were 100% drop for cutting edge so what about new players? let them slave away through RNG? you still fail to make a decent point about RNG.

Im asking blizzard for a way to help with all these in a way that rewards the player time but for some reason if its a Ahead of the Curve or Cutting edge mount from 5+ years it seems to be a problem lmfao.

“Slave away”, more melodrama. It’s a bonus drop, and players can self regulate their playtime. You don’t need everything in the game.

I just wish they’d make the drop rates ever so slightly higher, or give us the system for older raids/dungeons to collect tokens after a clear or weekly acquired token for additional loot rolls in Bosses

When legacy loot mode is active all trinkets, jewellery and artifact relics need to be suppressed from the loot table.
