Old Player

I think I’ve lost the touch. I love the game, been playing for 10 plus years (not elite).

Was in a great guild that just “died off”. Created my own which never “took off”.

Now I just do dailies and hunt rares and achieves. I still enjoy that. I hope I’m not alone in what seems a huge world.

I’m new and I lost the touch.

That is how I have played for years too.

Kinda depressing right? Maybe just age. This game has gone on a long while. So have I.

I think there are quite a number of us “retiree” players still holding on for some reason or another. Doesn’t even have that much to do with RL age, the game just became a bit too much to keep rolling.

I’m sorry for that. When I was new I couldn’t stop playing.

It is, I miss talking to friends I used to play with. On a positive note it is nice to have complete freedom on setting your game time priorities.

To be honest I’m looking at a mountain called “loremaster” and I’m too scared to climb it. Sigh, it’s gonna be a year long boring side project.

It’s tough to give up 10 years of achieves.

I’ve been doing pretty much the same for the last couple of expansions.

The title is pretty good. But it’s a climb for sure. Though easier now I think?

I got loremaster by leveling a bunch of alts during MoP. Whenever I’d level a new character I’d just make sure to complete different zones with each one.

It’s a game that saves me money anymore. I enjoy it, “just enough”…I miss my old guild, I’m not one to research and study fights though.

Just want to play a game. So, not good enough.

I joined a casual guild back in BC, was only around 200 members but I left in Wrath in pursuit of then heroic now mythic raiding. The guild became really popular and was always near cap even removing characters that hadn’t logged in for 30 days. It had guild lotteries, parties, casual raids, mount and pet giveaways, it was a good community of people and one I would always suggest to people looking for a guild no matter what realm I was on lol. It was always super popular until Legion then everyone started quitting :frowning: Now it’s down to about 30 members, sad times.

Been around since TBC.

Guilds come and go, just find new ones that fits your schedule.

Without the social element this game loses most of its appeal, IMO. And that goes for almost any MMO. Weekly raid nights are what keeps me playing the game.

That is sad. I’m sorry.

My guild (the guild I was in), was good, we raided before mythics existed. And we did good. We were family oriented and so if one crucial member couldn’t show…family first. I liked that. Needed that.

I don’t need to be top of the top. Though I like some good gear…and damn I like winning the M+

But, my community is gone. and the server changes…Winterhoof/kilrogg is now low pop. That’s fine but please recognize Blizz…low pop attracts nearly no one.

I’m with you. I have been playing since 2006 without taking a break. I went through the ‘golden age’ where my guild was super active and we all were friends and raided and had a blast. Around Cata is when things started dropping off and now my guild is all but dead. So really all I have to do is the daily stuff and yeah hunt for mounts and transmog. I still enjoy myself otherwise I wouldn’t be logging in, but yeah. You aren’t alone.

With the rise of subscription services, I see less of a reason to be subscribed to this game.

Why would I have a $15 sub to this game when something like GamePass has a much better future and way more content for the same price?

It’s just not enough game for the price, regardless of how much they gate content to try to spread it out like it means something.

Have faith man,

“You’ve got the touch!!”

Ya same, raided back in the old days and now just kind of hop in and out to farm transmogs and random nonsense. Gets tough though because there really isn’t any form of progression of casuals.
