Old player returning for 9.2

What’s my checklist of what I should be doing in zerith Mortis? Or what should I start working on first here

if you have a few thousand gold, just buy 233 gear on the AH. then hit ZM, do all the quest lines and the world quests, then do daily quests. you can pretty much ignore everything else.

also: torghast for your legendaries.

Just complete the campaign collect cosmic flux and maybe cyphers.

Zeroth mortis campaign > ZM rare spawns > torghast > heroics > LFR spam > M+ > raid.

Extra tips:
-have gold? Buy AH gear to make ZM easy.
-Have Anima? Buy enlightened gear from ZM vendor for full 226 BOA gear.
-Run BGs and Solo shuffle and pvp weekly quests for easy Conquest point for conquest gear (no arena required)

  • ask people in LFR if they need the gear that dropped. Be surprised how much gear ppl will give you

I leveled a mage to 60 this week. He’s already 255 PVP ilvl. I did all that besides LFR and Raid (i did a ton of solo shuffle and comp stomp for tons of easy honor)

Though LFR is huge at low ilvl. Tier set drops plus vault drops.

I’ve always felt the best way to enjoy a game is to just play it and figure things out, but I guess I’m in the minority.

Maybe everyone just reads guides and strats for every game they play before they even play it so they can feel good about playing it the right way.

I’m about the same, but I am in the same pot as OP and have been feeling a bit lost. It’s a lot to just “figure it out”.

This thread has been helpful at pushing me into where I should be focusing, but definitely at my own pace.

At this point im going to recommend blowing through the story, then finding a way to make as much gold as possible, so you can turn it into Blizz bucks and not pay real money for your sub or the next expansion…going into a fresh xpac with a fat wallet feels good.

You mean 226 right? Can use anima to buy 226 gear in haven.

If your not going to competitive raid or M+, wait for leggo prices to fall. In 9.2.5 They are nerfing the crafting systtem from 45 to 15. This should allow a flood of new crafters to enter the market.

I came back two months ago, and I’m the classic definition of a casual player.

I really enjoy the World Quests in ZM. I also run dailies for my covenant. I focus on trying to unlock particular transmogs and mounts. I really enjoy ZM quite a bit though. Sometimes I just fly around and unlock new chests, play puzzles, find things I didn’t see before, and of course take down rares and World Bosses for loot.

I do not feel good enough to join a guild for raiding/mythic, even though I really want to do that. I’m working on my second legendary, but I don’t have a lot of gold to buy the main armor piece, so I am working on that, too.

What I love about this game is that there is so much to do and have fun with! Welcome back to the game!! <3

No. I mean you can buy a single WoW token, get your 100k+, and then hit the AH to buy 233 crafted gear for your character. On my server, each piece is generally 700-1600g. That, plus a 229 weapon you can also buy on the AH, should get you to an ilvl where you can start ZM and get upgrades as you work through the quest chains, World Quests, dailies, and bosses/chests.

Of course, you’ll also have to hit Torghast plenty to catch up your soul ash and cinders to get your legendaries going.

ah okay, gotcha.

Only if you love torghast and want it to take 10 times as long to get them. Just buy the mats with your piles of cosmic flux from the vendor in haven.

This isn’t good advice. You can buy a full set of 226 gear for very little anima from another vendor in haven. Then within minutes be finding even higher ilvl gear all over ZM.

Right there with you!

If you’re a new player, money is easier to come by than anima. Would I rather spend 500 anima for a 226 or 800g for a 233? I’ll pay the gold, thanks. I need that anima to get EVERY SINGLE COSMETIC AND MOUNT FROM EVERY COVENANT lol.

Torghast is completely optional now. You dont need it to do legendaries.

It’s a 233 you’ll likely use for all of 5 minutes in that zone. And as for anima, it practically rains down there. Sure, a newly returning player might not be able to deck themselves out in a full set of 226s immediately upon arrival. But they can surely afford one or two. The zone isn’t that difficult and you don’t need a full set to get started. Just a weapon is a massive boost.

Plus that gold is better saved for legendary base items.

Well considering the OP could have googled or YouTube’d the same question and received an instant answer instead, I’d suggest they’re more or less looking for a bit of attention.
