So, I got old Scholomance unlocked, and got the achievement for Old Naxx. But, is there something I’m missing? The ward takes me to Northrend Naxxramas and nothing in the loot tables seem to be changed. I’m just wondering if I’m missing something. I know it’s still early on since they added these back, but it’s admittedly got me confused if I’m missing some detail

There is no old Naxx to run, if that’s what you’re asking. You can run old Scholo for those old transmogs, but you can’t run old Naxx. This is how getting Naxx stuff works:
If thats the case then why is there an achievement called Ward of the Dread Citadel that basically mentions unlocking the secrets of Naxxramas. And if its just to get the ward teleport in Eastern Plaguelands, i wasted time grinding it cause i can just teleport to Northrend Dalaran and fly south to Naxx, instead of doing all that travel to EP
Because you needed to complete that step before you could do all of the “new” stuff in Naxx.

So. Basically we got old Scholomance back, and they just threw new stuff in Naxx that we couldnt access without first getting old Scholo unlocked and an achievement…
That’s pretty much the long and short of it, yeah.

The “Old Naxx” content is not designed for players to go back and play the original Naxx.
It is designed as a gold sink (and a way to sell more tokens) while maintaining the lie that the original Naxx was somehow special and not simply removed because Blizzard was cheap and lacked foresight and thus recycled Naxx as the entry tier for Wrath.

I’ve never seen any compelling reason they couldn’t just plop the “Old Naxx” down above EPL again.

Because you got played like the rest of us who didn’t have the time to fully look into how they were doing it.
I paid for DF excitedly just to come back for a visit and get my hands on some T3, Corrupted Ashbringer and curiously check out how the old raid looked.
Then I got to entering Strath to unlock the entrance and nearly put my first through my monitor when I read the guides about how it all worked.
Putrid scum honestly.

the fact that you only have 5 mins from the time you throw holy water on this dread ward to run ALL the way to the “Undead” side, beat 3 bosses, and clear trash inside the citadels, AND clear the abominations, AND the wave of undead, AND ramstein, AND the other wave of undead AND Aurus, BEFORE you can find the Hand of Naxxramas?
that’s a bit much. i feel like beating each boss should add at least a minute to the timer, because some people may struggle with this. i personally won’t even bother trying this but that’s also because i don’t have several characters at gold cap to buy tier 3 from the BMA to get the FoS achieve.
If you use a speed potion, it makes it easy. But without the speed potion, there just isnt time unless lucky. Oh and dont go through the traps. But if you have good aoe’s it helps.

There’s No Vanilla Naxxramas because Vanilla WoW Zones are not in Retail only in Classic.

It actually exists, they have everything that existed in Naxx40 in the database, they could have perfectly made a copy of NaxxLK and implemented all the loot + Highlord Mograine and other things if there was anything else, they didn’t because they just didn’t want to, but not because all the content was removed.
