Old Naxx looks return yet no Corrupted Ashbringer/Atiesh

Literally the two most hyped and sought after items that come from Old Naxx and you decide to omit them.

Why? It’s not like Ashbringers aren’t abundant after Legion. A new account can literally get one after an hour of playing a Paladin.

Why can’t I just live my Death Knight dreams of using it and doing the secret Scarlet Crusade rp? You had the perfect opportunity to have many people really have fun and you crapped the proverbial bed.

Seriously. WHY?

It’s probably why they didn’t do this. They wouldn’t want players having this “fun” thing or they might quit.

What kind of spiteful bootlicking logic is that? They just want to have fun.

If you’d like some Hopium, old Scarlet Monastery is returning in 10.1.7 . Perhaps a crafted Corrupted Ashbringer (different name of course) may become available?

Old Naxx returned?

I didn’t get the memo :frowning:

Don’t worry about them. They do nothing but troll and shill.

Huh? No. So I can have fun with an item.

Just want it known the post below me by Praised was simply calling Quenya a known troll.

If by “Old Naxx” you mean “Current Naxx, but there’s a portal in EPL, and frozen runes spawn again,” yeah. I think a lot of people are getting confused because both versions of Naxx are almost entirely identical beyond one of the four horsemen and how some of the NPCs dress.

There’s only one version. Just with unlockables.

After ZG and Naxx I’d be surprised if they even brought back everything from old SM through the crafting mess, much less Ashbringer.

They also didn’t bring back old Zul’gurub at all. Just some average mogs and none of the old ZG mounts or the cool bosses like tiger dude or Hakkar.

Personally, i feel like if you don’t bring the instance back, then don’t bother. A half-arsed “just bring back a little” isn’t good.

Yes. It’s just another entrance to the raid in Northrend.

I think folks are getting it mixed up since the most immediately apparent change between Vanilla and WotLK Naxx was the removal of the runes, which have now been restored, but the raid is literally still Naxx10/25.

I did the questline.

It didn’t make Old Naxx exist.

It just gave me a new way to enter the existing raid.

I kinda feel like you’re the OP on an alt :stuck_out_tongue:

Besides the removal of frozen runes, many of the mobs use different models (Plague beasts for example were not plague eruptor models, but bog beasts. Flesh giants in Abomination wing were originally abominations in terms of models,Most of the Death Knight wing used different and much simplier models, etc), Baron Rivendare replaced Highlord Mograine, No Ashbringer or Atiesh, michael mcmahon doesnt voice kel’thuzad anymore. And those were the biggest changes off the top of my head that i recall.

I agree. Like they KNOW exactly what people wanted out of Zul’Gurub (tiger mount) and Naxx too…

I think the reason they didn’t bring them back is a misguided “it will undermine those who get it”.

Zul’gurub was literally soloable in wotlk so it was just luck-based trip if you got the mounts or didn’t. What is the lost prestige or “undermining” that happens if they re-add the entire old ZG with its rewards back?

It would be the equivalent of removing ICC and Ulduar tomorrow. Mimiron’s head and Invincible are both soloable in the same veins as Zul’gurub in wotlk. The mounts aren’t really “prestige” or something deep. The stance makes sense with stuff like old Zul’aman bear or gladiator mounts, but in this case it doesn’t.

As for Atiesh and Ashbringer, i believe its lore reasons they don’t want those back. Honestly it doesn’t hold any water when DHs can transmog illidan’s iconic warglaives, so its just a weird argument.

Ah, you were just being intentionally dense. Forgot who I was speaking with. I only play Classic so I guess I gave the wrong info.

Nope. Don’t even have a horse in this race as it doesn’t concern me. I just like to weigh in when Blizzard blunders.

Think what you want though.

I really dislike how “lore reasons” is arbitrarily used. I can dress up as a Yeti wearing a BlizzCon chain. The “lore reasons” excuse became entirely invalid once that happened.

It’s also inconsistent. If “players cant just walk around with iconic lore weapons they don’t own”, why the hell the DHs can just mog Illidan’s warglaives of Azzinoth then?

What about Gorehowl too? Or doomhammer?
