Remember in, I think it was Legion, when that comic came out that showed old Anduin talking to Velen? I wonder if that’s the time period we come back into from Shadowlands. Thoughts, ideas, or hopes?
I hope so, but Blizzard has been known to just brush over story elements that no longer fit the direction they want to go.
There’s even rumors that Anduin gets assassinated so, who knows what they actually want to do.
The issue with WoW is there’s so many “greater powers” that they could just say it was a false vision.

If I remember right they later said that was only a possible future and not necessarily a true canon on what’s going to happen. I’d take that comic with a grain of salt for now.
There might be some time weirdness after Shadowlands, who can say. But I don’t really think they’ll go so far ahead as to skip Anduin’s entire life. And everyone else’s too.

I feel like they need to take a bold stride, though, it’d put some spice back in the story.
Then again, I have no idea what the Shadowlands holds for us. And they did say something along the lines of the story going somewhere we’d never expect.
Back to Draenor! Calling it now.

Will that make him more likely to be dead of old age before the expac is over? Because I would be in favor of any option that leads to that outcome.

I’m also curious to see if some of the speculation of the Dread Lords as original inhabitants of the Shadowlands is true… they seem to be like Dark NPC mirrors to us the PC… Taliesin & Evitel even made a video about The Lich King, The Jailer & His Dreadlord Allies talking of this…

Maybe not that far forward, but an expansion where we finally do SOMETHING with Anduin having Shadow priest abilities would certainly be a step in that direction, have Anduin’s repressed dark powers erupt uncontrollably turning him into a dark priest and try to kill everyone only to get it under control last minute and become a discipline priest. the spiritualists of the Pandaren (both sides) and Trolls as well as the church of the light could help with the ritual to bring him back leading to a unified Alliance Horde storyline leading up to the “Son of the Wolf” future where it’s everyone vs the Void lords.
They said that about Teldrassil, too.
