So gold was capped at around 214k cause of how the game was coded back in 2004. With classic using the new system as it’s core the set cap will more likely be at 10 million. SHould blizzard hard code the cap back down to 214k?
I feel like regardless of which one they go with, we aren’t really going to know which one it is for a very, very long time =P

I think it’s something they should be reminded of… but not a top priority at the moment.
Thats something I am expecting to be the old value, unless they forget to change it.
Yes. And for those curious as to why it was such a seemingly random number, the value is the maximum value of a 32 bit signed integer in copper. This is probably the most commonly used data type for an integer value.

If someone wants to go out and gold cap then more power to them, theres going to be nothing they can spend it on anyways.
Definitely cap it at two billion copper.
No one is going to get 214k gold in Classic WoW’s economy, not unless they allow the WoW Token in which case I won’t play it.

Considering that if someone did get up to 214k gold in Classic, it would be a huge red flag worth investigating, no I don’t think they should make it any larger.

Umm…server i was on during vanilla had multiple people who was gold capped…
Let’s just say being gold capped was part of the Vanilla experience. A piece of it that I never experienced.
Its not impossible to do, just really difficult. There will no doubt be some people going into Classic who will have the goal of gold capping as fast as they can. They could probably do it less than six months if they really went hard on it.
Exactly, it won’t be common. But the more likely way to reach it would be with gold farming/selling, hence, it’s worth investigating in my opinion.
