That was it. A 45 second in-game cinematic for the death of the last Old God.
How many cities do you think we can power with Lovecraft’s rotating corpse?

Glad to see they remembered to address the sword killing the actual planet.
Wait…
I have to say that I’m pretty disappointed. I mean I wad hyped to see the last cinematic, but this was… lame
Don’t blame me, I voted for Yogg.
Still waiting for the “Big Twist™”, Blizz
The big twist is Old Gods.
The thing everyone predicted day 0.
Glad to see they remembered to address LITERALLY ANYTHING IN BFA
Oh wait they didn’t!
Wait till the expansion after shadowlands that the golden azerite shower that killed Nzoth didnt actually kill him.
Gosh. Blizzard is just so clever.
I get it now. It’s a “big” twist because the old gods are pretty large dudes. Big guys you might say.
Remember what the Horrific Visions we visit in the Chamber of the Heart are: The new Blueprint that N’Zoth put in place of the old one for the Forge of Origination.
Yes the Forge of Origination has a Blueprint:
https://wow.gamepedia.com/Archivum_Console#First_dialogue_with_Brann_Bronzebeard
Brann Bronzebeard says: Planetary re-origination? Speak plainly, ye blasted machine!
Archivum System says: The decomposition of the planet and its living organisms into base elements: metals, rocks, gases. This is followed by a period of reconstitution of each element into the original planetary blueprint.
The Questline leading into Horrific Visions says that the Horrific Visions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar are the Blueprint that N’Zoth added into the Forge of Origination from inside the Horrific Vision of Uldum.
As long as that Blueprint is in place(and there is no need to change it since the Old Gods are gone) and unguarded(we didn’t guard the Tidestone) the Void Lords have a chance of corrupting Azeroth into a Void Titan anyways even without N’Zoth.
As Alleria wants to hunt down Sylvanas and as Turalyon wants to be with her and as Thrall’s mother Draka is in Maldraxxus we can assume that at least those 3 will be joining us in the Shadowlands and safe from harm if the Twilight’s Hammer Re-Originate Azeroth!
Hopefully Shaw, Rexxar and Umbric join us in the Shadowlands as well as it would be most upsetting if the real ones died in favor of evil copies made from Azeroth reconstituting into N’Zoth’s Blueprint!
And BfA ends as the wet fart it always was. Let’s just pretend the expansion never happened.
It’s so true. The biggest problem with the way this story ends is that Blizzard seems to have forgotten how the Cthulu mythos works. Even if you defeat/kill an Old God/Great Old One, you don’t really. The most you can do is make them fall asleep again. They always come back. Also, even the weakest of them is so absurdly powerful that we are like ants to them. The whole point of the Cthulu mythos is that in the end, we will lose. You can’t stop them. All we can do is try to hold them off for a while without losing our minds in the process. It’s the story of a struggle against truly impossible odds.
I’d agree, but as soon as chronicle introduced their origins with the void lords that facet was taken away. Cthulhu can be unstoppable because it is “the big bad”. Now they only have three choices: die, become irrelevant, or join us to stop the big bad.
I really don’t know what to add, the title really says it all. Its the 3rd time they did this too. I guess I can look past C’thunn because that was the first expansion. But Yogg’Saron the most cunning only got a raid. These ancient evils could have been so much more. I think N’zoth could have really gotten there but it need it’s own expansion. He’s been moving in tune background since Cata. He should have exploded onto the scene.
How would you have liked their story to have went?
You have to remember that the Old Gods are Lovecraft inspired. They liked the big scary monsters, corruption, and insanity but don’t think their players could deal with being defeated in a big way.
I feel like I say this a lot, but the Old Gods had a lot of potential that Blizzard really dropped the ball with.
How is it wasted if there’s more old gods in space
Old gods that will be killed off just as easily as the one we just killed was and won’t have the years worth of history as characters that our old gods did.
That’s not potential, that’s loot fodder.
We killed yogg and Cthun easily what’s new?
I forgot to say that an even bigger insult to this story is that now Blizzard has rectonned the story to say that when we defeated C’thun and Yogg-Saron, and now by killing N’zoth, we have cleansed all Old God corruption from the planet. Screw that, considering when previously, C’thun and Yogg-Saron were just pushed back as we only dealt with a small portion of what they are, as they have embedded themselves deep into the planet. Also, during Legion, there were whispers happening in Ulduar again.
