Old content

Is there anybody else who enjoys revisiting old content, just for the hell of it? I found myself flying all over Northrend the other day, for no reason other than the fact that I haven’t been up that way in 8-10 years. It’s so heartbreaking how desolate it is there, too. I can remember running around Grizzly Hills and Zul’drak and it was littered with other players. Now, it’s like, once the expansion for that region is over, those places become ghost towns. I see quite a few people hanging out in (old) Dalaran all the time, but almost never anywhere else in the area.

Rather than having to constantly come up with new zones and new content, it would be awesome if Blizzard found a way to incorporate old world content into the new expansions, giving people reasons to go back to some of these places, and breathing new life into them. I personally would love to spend more time in Northrend or Outlands (on retail), but have no real reason to right now other than for trips down memory lane.

So, I guess back to my original question… do you ever go back to playing or visiting old content or do you just focus on the new expansions?

Nope, i hate the nostalgia trip i get. Flying over grizzly hills and the music playing just hits me in the gut. Also being reminded of that one quest with the werewolves and the human female.

I love the music of Draenor and will go back to step away from current stuff from time to time.

Lots of folks didn’t like the place so it’s fairly empty with good music and atmosphere.

Beyond Draenor, every once in a while I will do a nostalgia tour. Hit favorite areas of the past. In the doldrums of BFA I met a great friend in Silithus by chance while on the tour.

Breaking the routine can be an adventure in itself. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m having way more fun leveling alts in old content because I’m sick of SL.

They tried that with cata revamp it was a dumpster of expansion and whole reason they had to shut down private servers and make classic.

Now that you said Grizzly Hills, I think I’m gonna have to take a trip there with one of my alts the next time I’m free from some grinds here and there

Probably one of the few areas on Northrend I can still enjoy when it comes to leveling.

Which quest? I’ve not leveled there in forever. Remind me please?

One with Sasha was her name i think. Such a heart breaking story. Father dies sister kidnapped you go out to kill worgen.

Whenever I feel in need of nostalgic relaxation I go to Northrend, go to Grizzly Hills, get on a ground mount and ride around with the music on. “Totems of the Grizzlemaw” tends to wipe away all the stresses of the day.

Not many zones nowadays have me doing that. In fact…none at all really.

Phasing may account for your seeing less people. If they are playing through Chromie Time and doing questlines you probably won’t see them, nor will you see them if they are on warmode. When I go to both Dalarans I almost always see people there.

Some expansions are popular for levelling (such as Draenor) while others are less so. Im currently levelling a character through MoP and its pretty quiet there.

My issue with the cata revamp is it messed up the flow of the story. Start in cata then you had to go back to tbc and wrath, only getting worse with each xpack after. With chromie time I wouldn’t care if they started to utilize their old zones.

Cata ruined the lore the zones the flow everything about cata was total crap.
None the garrosh story mattered it was tossed out in mop, they destroyed some the most memorable areas for a hand full of quests for forsaken etc.

I Enjoy to Play Old Contents. I had Play WoW since 2006 Before First Expansion was Added. But I do Play First Expansion. Right now my Alliance Character is in Second Expansion The Wraith Lich King, which I was very Enjoy it.

JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT?

No. Absolutely not. But back before Chromie Time I would level in the zones I liked instead of the “best” zones :sob: RIP Hellfire I’ll miss seeing you at level 58, and RIP mobs in Jade Forest temple it was fun running around blowing up those crates  RIP all content I’ll never see again :sob: :sob:

Let’s squish levels and then let people level wherever they want
Pros: It is your choice where you level
Cons: A lot of players are going to follow a guide

So say hello to dead zones.

Back in the day you “had to” level a certain way (not really you know, you can do dungeons or BGs or get boosted in dungeons) so it resulted in a stream (however tiny) of players constantly through a lot more zones than today. Again, blame level squish and blame Chromie Time.

This is a different question than above, I’m always all over the game because I’m a collector who wants everything  But I don’t go anywhere just because I miss it.

I do all the time, and love it!

As far as why to revisit… just have us help out the Bronze Dragonflight, give them some reason to be involved in the cosmology at-present, and done!

I did enjoy running around Icecrown for the prelaunch of Shadowlands. It was the busiest that zone has been since Wrath.

I was expecting this expansion to end there some how, “there must always be a Lich King”, and we don’t currently have one.

But there’s also a giant sword stuck in the world we are just gonna leave there…

Same here. I always found it so enjoyable and relaxing. I have a bunch of level 1’s I’ve created but done nothing with… I should level them through the area. But I’m really looking forward to Wrath Classic. I may have to quit my job and likely won’t see light of day for many weeks if not months :joy:

There is so much old content I haven’t done that I’m actually doing those quests now. I’m spending some time in Netherstorm at the moment.

That’s why I play Classic more than the Standard game.

I spend most of my time doing old content leveling up new alts. A lot more fun then the SL grind. But now trying to be a little bit more balanced.

I visit old zones to farm rare spawns. I see a lot of cool monsters I never seen before. I also work on the Bloody Rare and Medium rare achievements.
