So I’m questing in Storm Peaks (WLK) and finishing some of the Thorim quests, and my FPS went to heck, and I eventually had to reboot.
I’m wondering if this was an issue related to all the instancing that happens, or if it was just Firefox being a pain. Both are possible.
Anyone know?

I’m not able to locate any outstanding known issues with performance problems in Storm Peaks. Note that the known issue with server latency is not in regards to FPS performance, these cases also don’t show high latency spikes on the players end. Example: 43MS → Home/World latnecy but delays upto 3 seconds when interacting with NPCs is the issue or casting a spell damage takes time to occur.
If your FPS dropped sharply and restarting fix it, it’s possible a background application may of been taking up a lot of resources suddenly. If the issue continues you may wish to check for Overheating and follow our Performance troubleshooting Here.
If the issue continues to occur, let us know what your average FPS in the zone is, and when this issue occurs what your FPS drops down too. Please post up your Dxdiag for us to review. In retrospect, it does look like a problem with a Firefox window gone bad.
