I dislike what they did to my boy Kael.
That was REALLY old blizzard. By the time WoW is what it became, it wasnât that any more. You can only be a group of friends so long before you need to be a group of savvy business owners on a budget.
Its about approach though.
Chris had an approach that was unlike anyone else in the industry.
The art team has always been and will always be the one team in Blizzard that will continue to improve. Every expansion, the visuals of the world blow me away.
But the game developers and the writing teamâŚwell, their leadership isnât great. The story especially has taken a nose dive to being in the worst state itâs ever been this most recent expansion, and I thought time travel alternate universe shenanigans was bad. But this Sylvanas fan fiction is justâŚdreadful.
I miss Metzen.
By this you mean political climate of 2020 ??
Ion just doesnât generate the same level of energy Chris did.
Chris comes out on stage screaming. âAlliance are you there!?â âHorde where are you!?â You can tell heâs excited to announce an expansion.
Ion no offense to guy just looks like heâs there because he was paid to be.
Correct, yes.
He is just a different person. Ion is far more serious about the game than Chris was, but Chris had far more passion.
With the way business works most just stick for a year or two and then look for something else. There isnât much investment anymore because the current structure in most job environments are just lateral side jobs you can access to and not really job opportunities of higher positions.
One reason could be creating different departments in the company was a bad idea.
This reminded me to the Malfurion then vs Malfurion now thread I made, lmao. Itâs there in more ways than I thought.
I liked Utherâs cinematic. Both still.
I think thereâs two Arthas as described within the Bastion video. The one that went into Frostmourne was probably his sane one. His real one, the one that isnât controlled by the light and knows how to forgive those.
And there was a golden spirit one. The one the light saved. I believe that one is the Light and all it wants is justice. I also believe that is the one who left Arthas for purging stratholme. Still though if they did change the story, this isnât the first time.
I love your post!
Absolutely
Chris brought it to life. Lived and breathed it. Passion and seriousness canât be beat with someone like him.
You mean Uther, not Arthas?
Yes. Iâve been working everyday and getting 5-6 hrs sleep everyday. I guess itâs time to get more today!
Was that before or after he âdearly hoped there was a special place in hellâ waiting for Arthas?
So an inspiring leader (emotion guy) vs a numbers guy (pure logic).
It shows in game. Number guys are great for figuring details out and building things, but the inspiring leaders are what you need to give direction and build something people care about.
People get mad when I say this, but its true. Each are good in their respective areas.
Hahaha yeah no worries. I think most got what you meant. I just was reading it and thinking, 'âDamn when did Arthasâ spirit go into frostmourne⌠is there another cinematic that I missed !? "
Yeah and all of that is taken out of context.
He took a picture next to the Sylvanas statue when it first arrived in the offices, as all life-sized statues do after Blizzcon.
As for Nathanos, he made a joke in reference to Nathanosâ new model that matched the one on the cover of the short story he wrote, in which the pivotal point was where Nathanos looks into the Dark Mirror and realizes that heâs in the body of his now deceased cousin.
But hey, keep hating on the guy for no reason.
Iâm certain most of the hate directed at him stems from the baseless assumption that he will choose to redeem Sylvanas.
The splitting of Utherâs soul was most likely the result of the Light trying to save Utherâs soul, as it was literally Utherâs final words in life and in the initial Afterlives trailer. (Light has struck a bargain with the enemy of all)
Sylvanas even had her own cinematic where she was killed by Frostmourne. Did her soul split? NOPE!
