Hello, I have returned to WoW after 6 year hiatus and found my old account is missing. I had 4-5 characters with some hard to get mounts. Is there a process to get the old account back or is it gone forever?
Can you log into the account? Then the account isn’t missing.
Character lists don’t stay populated if you’ve been away from the game for a while. You need to connect to the server they were on (Realm selection) and give the system a few minutes to dig through the databases to find your characters.
You can ask in the Customer Support forum; the Support Forum Agents are Blizzard employees with the ability to do different kinds of account research, but it’s going to require you to be very accurate about your account. Preferably, logging into the forums in that account.
Sniperorc,
I didn’t dream this account up. I have screenshot of one of my characters in the game. lol I was able to log in with the email I used back when I had the account 6 years ago. All my characters are missing.
If you log into the account on the forums, are you not presented with at least one character to post with? And the ability to select the others?
As I said, the ingame character chooser will not have any characters visible to choose because that information ages out. You have to select the realm to force the game to refresh that info.
Or ask a Customer Support Forum Agent to check into it.
Thats what I am trying to figure out here. Why are my characters missing from my account.
I will follow up with customer support team.
On the login screen, there is a realm button. Because you’ve been away a while, it probably won’t show the number of characters, but if you log into the realm you remember characters on, it should start looking for your characters.
Also be aware there was a level squish a few years back. Level 120 characters became level 50, so your characters will be lower level than you remember.
Is it possible that you had an IRL ex that deleted them?
