Ok, who still DOESN'T want the ripcord pulled and why?

100% agreed.

People have the choice. They are just choosing to play the best performing cov.

What you have to understand is that it is too late to pull any ripcord. The developers have to work way ahead of what is being played just to get content out.

Already, at 143 days in, we are well past the time when any of the first patches of all the other xpacs dropped, and it is probably 30 more days before it drops.

This tells me they are struggling at doing their base job (getting content out) and that they are working on the wrong thing - like making a version Raider IO, instead of doing their base job of getting real content out to their customers. So don’t expect any ripcord to get pulled.

Why do people say this? The last two xpac launch tiers, lasted 4 months and were 6 and 7 boss raids. Players complained they were too short and too easy.

CN is a 10 boss raid. It opened mid December. It’s April. 4k guilds are at or past sludge trying to get CE.

People already complain how alt unfriendly the game is. 4 months for a tier is too short. 5 months is too long. This player base is comedy.

I say this because we have been in a base content drought for almost over a month now and they are trying to make up stuff to put into the game to try and keep people engaged (anima achieves).

I agree with you about the raid. I found this raid to be the best first raid I’ve ever experienced, the problem is, they didn’t consider what people would be doing if they didn’t raid.

The fact that they didn’t pay attention to the balance of the raid and what other people do in the game is the issue. That should have been vetted out during their alpha/beta.

Not a fan of borrowed power, but at the same time what they came up with feels so much better than bfa. Not as good as legion though even though legion’s borrowed power was way more intrusive, it was also more interesting too.

I like my Covenant. My Kyrian Bear feels like my own character, and not just the same character as every single other Druid who happens to be Guardian at that given moment.

My character is my character. It returns a feel of RPG to the game.

Can’t care about any theoretical rip cord. Just choosing covenants based on aesthetics and not planning on participating in any ranked play (Mythic+, Raid, or PVP). Not like any of this is permanent anyway. Why should I put extra effort into temporary crap?

Besides, Blizzard was never going to pull any rip cord. That is just a fantasy that people delude themselves with.

I don’t really care either way because I am sticking to LFR until the final raid. I do however like the idea of picking a side for rpg reasons.

If they wanted to pull the ripcord, they could. He’s just saying that

If the ripcorders are so dead set on picking the very best covenant for every activity and to do otherwise is just gimping yourself, then why are so many of them playing non-meta classes? Seems a bit hypocritical to me

Who doesn’t want to shock the monkey?

I don’t know what to say about that. They tried adding non-raid content. Raid loggers complained loudly. Now the rest of us can’t have nice things.

The problem stems from the fact that Blizzard developed content for 3 specific categories of players (Raiders, open world, PvP), they then expanded it to M+ and this xpac they expanded it again to those who like to do rogue like content.

There really isn’t anything wrong with this strategy, however, where they are failing is considering all four as patches wind down and content droughts set in. Most of the raiders in the raid I run with un-sub until the next patch once we get AOTC. For M+, as long as there is a reason to run M+, they will do it, same with PvP. I can’t really say how long torghast loving people would be content with that content as I was done with it as soon as I got my mount.

The biggest community that is affected by content droughts are those who enjoy open world content. In the past I would run old raids to collect transmog, pets, and make gold. However, Blizzard’s squish ruined this so people aren’t running Legion raids like they would have been in the past.

So the only content for these people is to farm gold by doing daily callings and that takes about 15 min. per toon. :woman_shrugging: To be honest, WoD’s content drought was more engaging than this one.

Not a mythic raider myself but even lowly lfr hero me came up with an idea that would of made any of the class abilities work with any soul bind from any covenant. All it would of taken is a conduit.

People aren’t asking for abilities from another class , they are asking for abilities for there specific class to be opened . As a hunter I don’t want Pally, Warrior or priest abilities from the covenants. I want all the hunter ones . To say opening covenant class abilities so player can have all the abilities for their class is the same as saying it is the same as giving another class’ abilities to another class is the worst strawman I have ever seen in this forum.

Because prior to SL launch Ion said in an interview if there looks like there is a problem with the covenant system they could pull the rip cord and fix it if they had to.

The term originally came from Blizzard .

ION: “Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much I make a year player? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn’t believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going into Blizzard? A business big enough that it could be listed on the NASDAQ goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without me. No, you clearly don’t know who you’re talking to player, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, player. I am the danger. A guy opens his weekly vault and gets stygia and you think that of me? No. I AM THE RIPCORD!

A lot of us are playing multiple version of the same class in all of the covenants and a quite a lot of us are playing classes we have been playing for years . Also a persons forum avatar does not mean it is the toon they are maining in the game currently. So the toon they are using to post might not be a meta class but the one they are playing may be.

I’d rather they rework the abilities to be compatible across content. Instead of an AoE one and a ST one and a PvP one, you’d have 3 different choices that were based on your play style so that the choices were basically even across the board.
