Ok, just tell me where to put my blacksmithing points

I can’t be dookered with all this annoying outside the game research. Just tell me where to put my blacksmithing points so I won’t regret it too much and the damn ‘you have unspent profession points’ pop-up stops popping up. I hate these new, overly complicated professions.

Just gonna assume this means no one else knows either.

There’s no single answer.

What is your goal ? What do you want to do with Blacksmithing ?

Regardless, you need 30 points into Hammer control for general skill up, so make sure to unlock it at 50 skill.

Then you have to pick whether you want to make Weapons, Armor or Materials. At 25 skill, unlock the specialization you want. Make sure you understand which sub specialization you want to focus on.

For Plate armorsmiths, there’s a few paths. For PvP oriented smithing, it’s straightfoward, go down to Sculpted armor, that will let you specialize into helms and boots for hte Infurious patterns. For raiding, you want Bracers most likely, so spec into Fine armor, which also opens up the Algethar belt pattern which is quite in demand for PvE.

Make sure you get 30/30 in the sub spec and 30/30 in the piece to garantee R5 crafts.

Weaponsmithing is sorta the same, just pick between Blades or Hafted, and then hyper specialize. Blades is nice because Plate classes, rogues and Demon Hunters will want swords and other bladed weapons and it’s easy to specialize in both short and long blades.

For the big money though, forget items. Go full Speciality smithing and go into Smelting and Stonework. Make Alloys to sell and Whet and Weightstones. Sell everything for profit.

It really depends on what you want to do with it… you wanna make $$$$ or a big shiny melee weapon ?

ok go to hammer control and put some points into that till you can unlock right side then max that then max hammer then go over to armor and choose what you like best

I quit caring. Between Darkmoon Faire and the weekly profession quests I’ll get to 100 on my Engineer. That’s all I want. So I should get there in 1 3/4 years of play.
