Oh my god, N'zoth, Shut Up

I thought people were kidding. But no. The whispers are non-stop. I logged on earlier, at like 8 PM, and they started immediately, on a loop. I logged onto a low level toon at around 10:30 PM, and they were still going until then.

Once my friend I was leveling with went to bed at around 12:30 and I logged back over, the whispers were still there and still nonstop.

I sincerely hope this is bugged, cause if not, this is ridiculous. I muted my game noise and just played music. I will see what not cleansing the gift gets you in the end Blizzard, you won’t scare me.

LOL did you expect giving yourself to an old god and call it a day?

they whisper you to drive you mad for a reason… :man_shrugging:

N’zoth’s been trapped for thousands of years. He’s just lonely.

Good thing I only kept it on my poor rogue. It’s very loud. Please give us a way to lower the volume.

I like it. It is driving me mad. I hate it. All of which is pretty immersive.

Hope this goes somewhere eventually… i

Honestly have no idea what this is about? Anyone want to educate me?

I kept it on my Void Elf for flavor… my void elf is my main.

I hope it’s not bugged and keeps going. Submit yourself to an Old God that drives people insane via Whispers, expect the same.

Something like this is the immersion I’ve been craving for from the game.

Op.did it work for you ,did the effect drive you crazy? Because the only relief for me was to take the flight points.

When you do the Crucible of Storms questline, you get “chosen” by N’zoth.

You have the option to cleanse his Gift at the end of the questline by Brother Pike or Talanji or keep it.

If you kept it, today he started whispering to you. But the whispers are NONSTOP. Like, maddening nonstop.

If you cleansed it, you got a toy. So most people kept the gift on their main and cleansed it on their alt for the toy.

well this is the part where you get either the good ending or the worst ending… both things depend on perspective but usually if you do crazy things because you hear things… usually it ends bad.

but yeah what did you expect when you decided to keep his gift?

Good idea .

Have you people considered doing the quest to purge the gift? Don’t say that you want a cheeseburger then complain that your cheeseburger tastes like a cheeseburger.

I lowered Dialogue and it seemed to silence the whispers a little.

Occasional whispers like every other old god related thing they’ve ever done.

Not nonstop whispers at a loud volume for hours and hours.

I’d be 100% fine if the whispers were like a few minutes apart. But NONSTOP whispers? That’s just irritating. I can’t hear any dialogue in the game because of it.

I fear for people who rely on boss callout cues for things and die because they can’t hear them.

Would you say it’s maddening? If so, it’s doing what it was meant to do

Some people rely on hearing game sounds to do things like dodge effects, know when to taunt, etc.

Not being able to do that will result in groups wiping.

I know I’m one of those people. I don’t rely on visual cues, because I have to lower my graphics to 1 in dungeons, raids, etc. So I rely on vocal cues of bosses, and then I know to look for the very weak visual effects. But if I can’t hear said boss, well then, the group’s about to die, lol.

So prepare for extra wipes for your immersion!

The things we sacrifice for immersion

Gladly. I enjoy RPG features in my MMORPG.

Mine’s gone, never did the quest but I did right click on the icon, so maybe they made it easier to get rid of. Only saw it starting today, and yeah it was annoying. Kinda glad it’s gone now.
