So I decided to do some testing with farseer and this is far weaker than I thought. Like, far weaker than an elemental overload proc.
So here I am in pvp gear using my favorite build which is the volcanic surge build (this should be a pve talent imo because it plays so much better). And in this quick video I show the difference between dmg.
Notice my lava bursts are hitting for upwards of 1.3 mil dmg. LB a max of 2.9 mil. Ancestor? 229k.
And this is with the talents increasing the dmg of them by 20%… I was excited thinking they’d do like 40-60% of the dmg of the spell that is used, but instead that isn’t the case. They seem to do a set amount of damage per cast and also don’t get any of the buffs you have such as flux melting or any other buff. I was initially bummed out that mastery doesn’t effect them for ele and now I’m disappointed they seem to do a set dmg instead of a percentage of the dmg you deal.
Anyway, here’s a quick showcase to see them in their lackluster action.

So tuning is a thing, that will happen. If you are worried about numbers now, fine to share your opinion (ideally in the shaman thread in the Beta section however)
But yeah I wouldnt worry about numbers yet.
True, but for me is I had thought they did a percentage of the dmg of your spells. However it appears they just do a set amount of damage. So in that quick test where I had an ancestral out the whole time and had 2 out for the last few spells, they ended up doing 7.8% of my damage.
When do we get to worry about numbers? Two weeks into the first raid tier?

As I said, share opinions about current tuning in the relevant beta forum, but worrying about tuning right now is premature, to say the least.
Tuning is never done, I’m not saying to not talk about numbers, but stressing about it right now? yeeah
Farseer is so ridiculously weak that it actually makes me feel reassured, thinking that tuning will be done.
Yeah tuning is a thing. That is why ele shaman is at the bottom of warcraft logs with zero redeeming qualities or features, because of tuning.
