Ogres when?

I know there are hundreds of ogre threads but i feel like if we don’t keep bringing it up it will never happen, i’ve been waiting 2 decades for them become playable and i would instantly reroll ALL my characters into one

I imagine we will get them as soon as they change all of the door sizes in the game or they shrink them down so they are the same size as Draenei and Tauren. I would definitely play an ogre warlock with two heads so I can fight with myself.

Do you think two headed ogres can kiss themselves? I wonder if their necks turn/reach far enough.

I’ll take “Things That Have NEVER Crossed My Mind” for $800 Alex.

Bro we’re about to get our 5th Night Elf reskin, aren’t you happy? /s

Haronir are actually decent, I’m just peeved it’s yet another elf lol.

Blizzard isn’t willing to rig new animation skeletons for armor anymore.

Ogres will probably never happen because that would require work on Blizzard’s part, and they don’t do that these days.

Another elf or troll reskin is the best blizzard can offer 2020+
Modern devs and direction are weak, maintenance mode.
The only ones carrying this game are the engineers, they are top tier.

Just expect elfs and trolls but with different colors.

Lol nah, I’d say it’s the art and music teams.

They pretty much never disappoint.

If anything is consistent in quality, it’s that.

We at least know Ogrezonia exists out there. Somewhere. Could be attach to anywhere but it might need to be a focused expansion with some ogre villains. :world_map::robot:

I was supposed to receive a shipment of jasper from Azeroth Express, but I just heard their ship crashed into some tiny island called Ogrezonia. I worry about the crew, as the giant female ogres on the island are rumored to perform horrible rituals on men who happen upon their island. My work must go on, though, and we need those gems. I’ve heard great things about your skill as a jewelcrafter - could you deliver three jagged jaspers by the end of the day?

Just like the time for Ethereals probably passed with the last patch of TWW (rip my hopes and dreams), the time for ogres realistically probably passed with WoD, when they were finally given the bare minimum of societal and cultural background.

No new ogre info since.

For real!!! Ogres are one of the original races of the game. It’s mind boggling that we don’t have them.

Ok, i’ll give you this one… you are right.
Nothing is left if engineers, artists, and musicians are removed from the equation.

Yep. If we ever get Ogre or Vrykul it will be a massively gimped version that has everything that people love about them reduced or removed. Like when we got winged dragons who couldn’t fly.

Tbf every other character in Moon Guard uses growth pots to be 15ft tall, so at least some people are okay with clipping through doorways.

Ogres do vary a ton in size, but playing one at tauren height would definitely be pretty lame.

Everyone loves Dracthyr, okay. Pay no attention to the fact 90% of them exclusively use Visage.

Yeah sure, because we don’t have enough issues with large races like tauren.

Unless you want to play a smurfed ogre race running around

I would be fine with clipping through doors. However, I think it would look extremely silly to have a giant ogre sitting on the back of the The Headless Horseman mount like it’s a pony flying through the air. So the other aspect to remember, is Mount scaling. If they don’t bring the ogres down to scale, they’re going to need to bring the mounts up. otherwise, every amount they jump into is gonna look like it’s straining under the pressure. Like putting Andre the giant on a Shetland pony.

They could just give them the gnome scaling treatment. For some reason their mounts are enormous.

Personally, I’d love for my ogre to ride a tiny pony. But realistically they are just too big to work, if people actually want to play ogres and not rounder orcs.

that scaling works in reverse so that they are more on par at the same height as other races. Otherwise it would be like using the world and larger from engineering. Every time a gnome got on amount it would be half size. So in an effort to balance things they made it to the amount is just slightly larger. But I’m sure there’s a fix out there somewhere. I just don’t know what it is and I’m not a developer so I can’t pretend to understand it. I can understand the psychology, just not the tech on how to make it happen.
