Warrior

Warlock
Rogue
Monk
Priest
Death Knight
MAYBE Demon Hunter? (i mean any race can be a Demon Hunter if the do the ritual)

Rogue Ogre isn’t particularly stealthy. He just makes sure to not leave any witnesses.

BUT in Hearthstone there is a Rogue card called “Ogre Ninja” and if the Kul Tiran can be Rogues, why not Ogres?

Well, Kul Tiran are just humans, at the end of the day.

But hey, I don’t mind. I’d play an Ogre ninja.

No hate for people who wanna play ogres so bad, but I’ve never seen the appeal. Their models are just so stiff. And do female ogres even exist? I’m personally starting to think ogres just reproduce through mitosis, and if they can’t finish splitting apart, they just have two heads.

If people want to play big fat guys so bad, the Pandaren are right there. The way male Pandaren run, dance, sleep, and wiggle around fills me with so much joy.

no Female Ogres have been seen yet, but there has to be Female Ogres, where did they all come from?
i already have pandas i wanna be a big gluttonus ogre!

Female ogres do exist, Blizzard just never got around to making the models. And obviously playable ogres would get a model update across the board to get them up to standard.

People have been asking for this for years. Ogres were part of the Horde during the second war, and there are ogres that are allied to the present Horde. So the lore justification is certainly there. But honestly? I think if Blizzard was going to make Ogres playable, they would have done so by now.

This might sound really bad that my first impression went there, but WoW’s depiction of most ogres always came off like a bad joke about mental impairment. I imagine that if they were added as a playable race, almost all of their depictions would just be that of really fat peons. I’m really not hoping for them being added, although part of me thinks it’s an inevitability.

I know there’s the Ogri’la stuff, but even they’re a minority and I’d expect that kind of representation to end up remaining such, because I doubt they’re what most people think of when you run into a common ogre.

I believe that thing about their mental capacity has been thoroughly retconned for WoD.

The moment to introduce playable Ogre’s came and went in WoD. You had an entire empire of Ogre’s introduced in that expansion - granted they were decadent and on the decline, but they would have made natural allies against the Iron Horde.

Of course, they would have had to hold off on doing the old switcharoo with the Iron Horde being replaced by the Legion as the big threat of that expansion, but we know there was a lot that got left on the cutting room floor, so who knows how things might have gone if they hadn’t abandoned WoD partway through to focus more on Legion.

I’m still a little pissed we never went to the mainland to the south where the main part of the Ogre Empire was supposed to be. I am left only to imagine a Suramar-like city state fueled by magic and brutality. No offense to the Nightborne, but that was the ancient magical civilization that I would have preferred to align with the Horde.

Yes there’s just no model for them.

I think that idea may have been done away with as far back as BC since we meet a bunch of intelligent ogres on the higher reaches of Blade’s Edge mountains. Or at least I think they were intelligent. It’s been like a decade since I’ve been there.

It would have also been the perfect time to introduce a female model. Hell, they could have made Mar’gok female so showcase this.

Unfortunately I think the mainland in the south bit was retcon in one of the Chronicle books, with the main part of the Ogre Empire being relocated to present day Shattrath (where they were wiped out).

Although I could be wrong on that.

They do exist though. One of the Ogre garrison followers is a rogue.

The same could have been said about the Mag’har, but we got them in the middle of an expansion that they played no role in by getting exalted with a faction that they had nothing to do with.

And like the Mag’har, there’s no reason we need to recruit the AU version of the race when the MU version is already allied with the Horde. I mean, if we are going to tap into the AU, let’s at least get something we don’t already have, like the uncursed Arakkoa or the Saberon.

Wanting since Cataclysm and don’t know why we didn’t get them with Goblins.

Ogres are long overdue for Horde.

If we take new races for the Horde I would rather see forest trolls and Sethrak. Those are really cool races.

Honestly I just figured they didn’t have secondary sexual characteristics. Granted WoW is the sort of fantasy setting where there’s snake boobs and hooves seem to behave an awful lot like high heels. So if they became playable I’m sure whe’d get very distinctly female Ogres.

I am less interested in ogres and more interested in how current horde leadership will handle a not so honorable group joining the horde or gaining a more prominent role in the horde.

I don’t know if “sexual characteristics” is much of a priority these days since we have fat humans now.
