🐉 Official Twilight Highlands Allied Race Megathread

The implication in the original lore was that the Sons of Blackhand assembled an elite group of Shamans from disparate clans when Zuluhed discovered the Demon Soul.

A niggling difference - all that matters post-Portal is their association with dragons. That’s what set them apart then, and continues to set them apart from the regular New Horde Orcs.

Agreed, part of why I don’t see them being an allied race YET.
Or customization option, as that kinda just defeats the purpose of their unique culture

We already have playable Dragonmaw Orcs…they are the 3 grey-skinned options for the Mag’har Orc Allied Race. As for Wildhammer Dwarves? Replace Death Knight with Druid.

You have Blackrock, Bleeding Hollow, and Shattered Hand.

Dragonmaw didn’t even exist on the alternate Draenor, and they are not “Mag’har.”

Ok, then what are the 3 grey-skinned Mag’har Orcs?!? The Blackrock have dark, almost black skin and glowing orange eyes, then you have 3 grey-colored skins, with what looks like markings that the Dragonmaw Orcs sport. THEN, you have Bleeding Hollow, and Shattered Hand. Care to explain what the 3 pale-grey choices are for, if NOT a Dragonmaw Orc Clan?!? Even Zaela, the Dragonmaw Orc leader, sports this pale-grey skin tone, that the Mag’har Orc Allied Race has! Go to Dragonmaw Port, and it will be confirmed that I am being honest. Don’t make assumptions. Do you know how to spell “ASSUME”?

Personally, I think Blizz missed an opportunity when they implemented the Maghar with various clans, they should have done the same with the dwarves, adding wildhammer and the ones from northrend as options.

My apologies, I missed Laughing Skull.

Go to Draenor and look for a single Dragonmaw Orc. There aren’t any. This was even a BlizzCon question - they deliberately chose not to include them among the Mag’har.

You will also note that the new playable model pass removed the draconic brands from the Dragonmaw forearms, but added glowing yellow eyes. I’d like to see both represented with the Allied Race.

Dragonmaw have never had glowing eyes…you’re thinking of Blackrock Orcs. Go to Searing Gorge, Burning Steppes, or Blackrock Mountain, and you’ll see what I mean.

Go to the Twilight Highlands and bask in their amber glow yourself.

I did not know that a thread was official just because the original poster says it’s official I’m going to go off and make my own official thread now oh wait no I’m not.

The only way to make a thread official is to be the first to claim it as such.

Yeah, I doubt we’ll ever see either. They’re not different enough from the base races to justify an Allied Race, but they’re too different to just add as customization options.

What the fu…imagine the outcome of you had a real hobby.

I’d rather not have these two. Especially when they could just slap tattoos on vanilla dwarves and say they are wildhammer customizations.

Dragonmaw orcs just have grey skin, which is already an option for Mag’har.

First, your assertions are wrong on both counts. But let’s give you the benefit of the doubt and say you’re correct. Even then, both groups are culturally distinct from the groups you’re trying to add them to.

THIS! This is what I have been trying to stress entirely! I can’t stress this enough!

Pandora’s Box cannot be closed.

That is, once Lightforged and Highmountain and Dark Iron and Mag’har became their own Allied Races, rife with all the bells and whistles that come with that designation, the “just add skins to the core races” stance become obsolete.

Blizzard found a way to expand customization, and more importantly, a way to monetize it. I doubt they’ll deviate very far from this new model.

Disagreed. We should at least get Broken and High Elves and Ogres before another pointless Orc skin.

Broken? Perhaps.
High Elves? Already playable (as far as the developers are concerned).
Ogres? More befitting of a core race addition rather than an Allied.

The more we get the playable roster in line with the races that have already joined up with our factions, the better.

We both know that they’ll just add whatever new race is featuring in a zone three patches down the line regardless.
