You know why. What’s going on is beyond toxic, not in the best interest of the player base and will destroy the game.
Remove double decay, leave double RP and let people have the toys they thought they would get.

Honestly, yeah. I’m on board. It’s beyond toxic to be honest. The amount of gatekeeping, cheating, mass reporting, account sharing, and afk’ing is out of control. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear about someone hospitalized irl any day now for kidney failure, blood clots, or any of the other numerous serious health issues that come from sitting for 18-20 hours a day. I also wouldn’t be surprised if I saw a lawsuit filed because of it either. Not saying they would win, but I could see them try for sure. The game has been reduced to 18 hours of premade AV, and pray you dont get mass right click reported. I don’t know if removing decay is the answer, but something has to be done.
Edit Lawsuit for medical bills. Inb4 some dummy is all “HuR dUr CoNsUmEr LoSeR” or some other tom foolery.

Nobody is telling you to do the grind. Your guild certainly isn’t requiring rank 14 for MC. You don’t need the gear.
Neither do I. I won’t get it. I’m fine with it.
If you are a hardcore player, play like one. If you aren’t, don’t.

if you cant keep up just take a break, first generation is only for a small minority of degenerates, come back and rank in a few months.
18-20 hours? I know people doing 36 straight then take a 4 hour nap and do another 36.
Only a few people would be able to reach R14 in 3 weeks with that change because of brackets. Most won’t in that time frame. Most servers are already resorting to pool parties to increase the bracket 14 slots by 1-2 people due to population issues. As time goes on, less and less people will pvp.
I’d rather help the vast majority of rankers over the entire season than the handful of Rank 14’s that are going to get there anyways.

Needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. The quality of gameplay has sharply declined on lower pop servers since the introduction of the AV meta.

Why it (2x Rp but normal Decay) shouldnt happen:

This is a 1 year cadence, as has been pointed out Hardcores would take 3 weeks out of 52 weeks to get their gear which is not fun for them to have nothing to work towards over the course of maybe 2 months and then have 2 months of fun with before they have to do BWL / AQ for the new PvP BiS.

The PvP system is meant to reward the top % of the SERVER first. Just because your server is smaller than others isnt a reason for you to rank faster, % is %

From a business sense: Its not good business; Giving people everything in 3-6 weeks vs 6-12 on a 52 week cadence is not good for making money.
Why at least a REDUCTION is needed:

The advertised amount was the original RP gains with a 40% Reduction in Decay. If this was not the case then blizz should have proof read the post before clicking “Post” and verifying that was the case.

The fact that drop %s will be the same with less time to get them in PvE means there will be a point where people are being removed from raid for not being able to keep up due to lack of gear, Allowing for ease of access to PvP gear to fill in other slots is smart.

The gear will only last 3 of the 8 classes through MC / BWL. The other classes dont benefit past MC from their sets. In fact some classes (In a minmax BiS sense) dont even want R14 as its a waste of their time to get the weapons when things like mageblade exist.

Classic PvP after a certain point is not for the gear but for the fun; when you have 2x RP but 2x Decay; that means that the guy who just likes PvPing cant play as much as he wants to because he will be shunned by the PvP community for “Breaking Brackets” and “Not following the R14 order” when the original version of what was advertised (Normal RP 40% decay Reduction) would allow Hardcore players to play as much as they want, and people who just want to get R14 and quit to get it via Bracket 9-11

This false narrative that people can rank quickly is just that, false.
Think about it this way. If the pool size is 7K (which is our best guess for Jom right now) 140 people (or 2%) can be R12+. So even if everyone planned it out perfectly not everyone would be able to earn that gear in the 1 year season. This makes people more competitive, which in turn means you get less return from the hours you put in.
Nobody’s arguing for welfare/free epics - thats what retail does and it sucks. What I’m simply stating is its human nature that people will quit if the reward doesnt match the perceived investment. Lets have a path to PvP gear rewards in SoM that doesnt require unhealthy amount of play for 2 months (or account sharing).
The damage is likely done tbh. SoM is likely dead because after todays update - or at least the PvP side of it is and anyone who came to try it out. Blah blah blah doomsayer blah blah. Queues are already 50% longer (might just be the hangover from AV weekend), but not a single person ive talked to was happy w/ their rank.

it just needed to be time gated, and no decay. So anyone can get it eventually but it would take them months if u do it slow. idk maybe not… idk what people want with this stupid SoM thing… its like some half-butted “fun” server you can’t take seriously, but at the same time it requires more no life than actual classic.
Just every bad decision made… typical blizzard.
