I’ve seen a few different sites. Some stating August 26, while others August 27. I’m currently in EST and since the time the servers open is 3pm PDT, that would be 6pm here. But my question is if it’s August 26 @ 6pm or August 27 @ 6pm. Can someone clarify for me, please?
If you are in the US, EST, it is tomorrow: August 26th at 6pm.
And in another metric, at the time of this post, realms will open in 29 hours.
They are scheduled to open simultaneously all over the world. In Southern California that’s 3 PM PDT on August 26. In Australia (for example) that’s 8 AM August 27.
I only just realized myself that it’s on the 26th for NA. Go here. This will make it clear. It has a map, with dates and times per region.

As Eyrinjia said, it’s globally happening at the same time. However, for Europe/Asia/OCE that would be 8/27, since they’re at or ahead of GMT.

Sure, I understand how time zones work (but thank you). The confusion for me, was that since I never scrutinized it (like looking at that web page), I assumed it was August 27 NA, with OCE being 28th, for instance.
Does this mean that Blizzard will have their normal maintenance time on Tuesday again? That would be hilarious actually.
Because they’re all in their 30s and 40s with kids now. Aint nobody gonna be on call at midnight!

Nothing special is happening to the retail client, so I would assume Tuesday maintenance as usual. 1 hour people can’t play – oh n0z. Maybe they can get in a power nap instead of whining on the forums about their precious time being wasted.
Since their using the same times as BFA launch, use this map for vanilla also.

It’s a global launch, but with time zones, everybodys a little different.

Blizz stated in a blue post that there will be NO server maintenance on the following Tuesday.
better yet…I bet anything it will be a extended maintenance 
…people are going to flame out on the forums and ask for a refund…Kids/Adults these days have no dam patience. If this happens…Suck it up 
and sit back and enjoy the fact it’s here.
Midnight launch means they have to have staff there for launch which will leave them short staffed for the real rush when everyone starts getting off work.
Besides, it saves a lot of their player base from having to take a vacation day Monday. Now you can take 4 vacation days and not miss a thing.
It’s a global release meaning all will be active at the same time. If you live in NA that’s the 26th if you live on the other side of the world it would be the 27th.
It is launching at midnight – in Europe. They chose to launch at the same moment everywhere. So some people get midnight, and others get a reasonable time of day (5 PM where I live).
