Official Predictions for the end of BFA

No cop outs. And someone should bookmark this. I will award the person who comes closest full marks, and the title of “WoW Nostradamus.”

I think the game will end with both sides having done something evil. I personally think something is going to happen to Silvermoon due to someone important to Anduin, maybe Genn, dying due to Sylvanas’s stupidity with the dagger.

I think we all will continue fighting each other, as well as N’Zoth, which is why we actually have trouble killing the old god branded as the weakest.

In the end, the combined stresses of the war, the old gods, and the internal fighting we’ve had since 8.1 will fracture, and eventually split the alliance and horde, causing red and blue to change from 2 teams into 19 (at least… i think i counted playable races properly, though i could be wrong) separate nations. There will be no faction war as we know it, as the horde and alliance will no longer exist. In 9.0 you’ll see parties with Human Paladins healing Orc Warriors in instances and raids.

Your turn! lets see who can get the closest to correct in a year or so (however long it goes).

8.3 Siege of stormwind in a desperate move by sylvanas.
the kultiran fleet comes to reinforce the place and the zandalari attacks, both armadas clash in a climatic battle, n’zoth shows up and kick our butts, we lose, sylvanas escapes, black empire and only a few heros survive.

next xpac would be about going back in time or something like that and gather strength to retake the world! probably shadowlands.
bolvar would become an anti hero and will make his undead help us.

We face N’Zoth, Sylvanas uses Xal’atath to emprison him, “Azeroth is freeeee”, Horde and Alliance are friends again it was all Sylvanas’ masterplan to save the world.

I predict that BFA ends with both factions completely destroyed and N’zoth rules the over what’s left. Azeroth dies and anyone capable of sending us back in time to fix this is also dead leaving the survivors as slaves in the Black Empire who have to live with the knowledge that this happen because they cared more about faction wars and killing each other over solving bigger problems.

Battle for Stormwind would make the story come full circle (because that was Sylvanas’ initial goal in Before the Storm.)

Sylvanas has invaded the city and the Horde and Alliance join forces to stop her from raising the city into undeath.

Only thing that makes me think this won’t happen is that SW isn’t designed as a raid. New Orgrimmar and Zul’dazar were.

Sylvanas has to atone for her crimes. Cleansed of undeath via light or some other entity like Azeroth, or just flat out killed by rebellion.

Sylavanas marries Anduin bringing high tension peace.

I feel like its wide open right now - and with the writers clearly being drunk its even more wide open.

Im with Eheldald on his Battle of Stormwind prediction leading to N’Zoth kicking our butts and next Xpac we regroup and involve the Shadowlands.

I could also see us failing to heal Azeroth, which goes one of two ways:

  1. Azeroth, in what is left of her pained life, decides to take us out with her and we end up having our own World Soul as a villain in the next Xpac - allying herself with the Old Gods against us.
  2. Azeroth straight up dies, 120+ Level PC’s see our world become Outland 2.0, and we still get the Shadowlands Xpac as a in-between for the Xpac after, where the Voidwalkers offer us an alternative: Leave Azeroth for a myriad of other worlds. We become refugees moving on to new homes and expore new territories and become threatened by new enemies (moving closer to the ultimate showdown between Light and Void… and whichever side we should be on there because suddenly even THAT is up for interpretation). In this case, anyone under Level 120 still sees Old Azeroth, the same way a Level 1 Night Elf would still start in pre-burnt Teldrassil. … this could also culminate in a much later Xpac where we go back to Azeroth and see how it developed after we left and what happened to those who stayed behind.

In the instance End Time:

Tyrande has lost Elune’s light, in a maze of eternal night.

Baine is surrounded by destruction and is hateful, filled with regret over his inability to protect the Horde.

Jaina is haunted by specters of dead Alliance, confused and muddled.

Sylvanas is the queen of nothing, to her subjects of the dead.

I think the chance of Blizz “Kerriganning” Sylvanas into a savior that everyone is forced to forgive and assist are higher than her being driven out of the Horde or killed.

But the writers of BFA are so awful it’s hard to predict them. Half the logical lore developments this expansion seem to have been caused by fan outcry.

Am I going to be able to pin you down into an actual prediction though?

Honestly, I think the most likely story path will be that Sylvanas will be Void or Light resistant, and due to that, will be “the hero the world needs” in the coming Void/Light war. No one will be happy about it, including any Sylvanas fans that are left after the ongoing BFA character assassination.

Baine’s hunger consumes him, transforming him into “Baine, the Ever-Empty”.

He will rampage Azeroth, consuming the land and leaving nothing in his wake.

He will be the final boss of BfA as the factions unite to defeat him.
Sylvanas, now half-Valkyr thanks to her deal with Helya, leads an empowered Forsaken, now known as the Fjordsaken.
Zek’han, who watched Baine devour Saurfang, leads the Horde with surprising resolve.
Anduin, his magic bones stronger than ever, leads the valiant races of the Alliance.

With our forces combined, we will defeat Baine, banishing him once more to the primordial Void. The vast amounts of matter that he consumed will burst forth, regurgitated. This expelled mass will form the foundation of a new land, forged within the Ever-Empty Chieftain.

This land will be the subject of the next expansion where Anduin’s skeleton becomes sentient and rips itself from his body, becoming the next big villain.

Fjordsaken.

You have my eternal respect for that line alone.

I wanted to pick one thing from your post to quote and tell you I appreciated, but I couldn’t. I just couldn’t.

Blizzard needs to hire you. You have more talent than all of their writers combined. I’d play that expansion.

8.3 is going to either end with Sylvanas being corrupted by Xal’atath and N’zoth, or her imprisoning/killing N’zoth using Xal’atath and being redeemed Kerrigan style.

I am going with the idea that the next expansion is Shadowlands focused: The issue is that the living can only reach the most surface levels of the Shadowlands while still linked to their body. So, the Black Empire does rise again… and we fail to stop it… and we all die. Now dead we are cast past the veil into the true Shadowlands, where we spend a majority of an expansion fighting our way back to the realm of the living, to take on the Black Empire in late 9.x or as the premise of 10.x

Sort of like how in WoD there was no real (IC) way to return to Azeroth for quite awhile after we blew up the dark portal. Also lets them solve the faction conflict without making a victor… they just make us both loose, terribly.

Whatever it is, it will be awful and probably make no sense.

Sylvanas may not have succeeded in killing hope for the Alliance, but the writers have succeeded in killing my hope for the story.

No hope. Just pain. Only pain!

I have to agree with Yagarr, I think we’ll conclude with a big Siege of Stormwind, paralleling the old Horde all huge way back in the OG WC game. Except back then, the Horde won, killed the king, and razed the city. This time, the Alliance will defend the city successfully, but not without some major casualties.

Halford will likely bite it, as the first boss and line of defense of the city, but the Horde won’t be without a few bruises as well having Sylvanas losing her last 3 Val’kyr and Geya’rah falling in the battle as well.

With her scheme failing, Sylvanas mysteriously vanished and goes into hiding, the Horde retreats but is quickly surrounded by the Stormwind and Kul’tiran fleets, the PC’s and most of the leaders participating are captured and are being prepared to Facebook alliance justice until N’zoth suddenly rises from the depths should as a grotesque mass of tentacles and teeth as final boss of they expansion. N’zoth’s physical body is so large that it acts as it’s own 1-boss raid. With the last of his power, he acts as a beacon for the void lords to tear their way into the physical universe and head fro Azeroth.

With both factions greatly weakened after the war, we both agree that the entire universe is at stake and Tom suspend all hostilities until the threat is dealt with. The pre-patch for the next expansion would involve us using our super powered Hearts of Azeroth to awaken the world soul, giving us a fighting chance against the coming darkness.
