Watched a cinematic of the storm avengers talking about some kind of bad storm an Razegeth dead or whatever or something, just gibberish. I highly doubt most people even know what’s going on at this point.
Got to the Island. It asked me to collect keys.
k. Not so fun but okay. Well. Found some keys flew around forever looking for the entrance to the vault - found the exit, but no entrance. The in-game quest helper doesn’t guide you to the correct spot and the quest text is really vague so I just gave up and flew around the rest of the island.
Yay another rare grind island. So original, You really set a new standard here with your rare mob grinds of people flying from one braindead fight to the next. It’s just so exciting and fun, Just keep it up. Add more of these awesome islands. It’s sure to keep people coming back for more.
Unfortunately half of the rares are hidden in some cave I can’t find even after circling for 30 mins. I don’t like watching videos or spoiling anything but this is pretty pathetic or I am smoking way to much. IDK. Probably have to watch a stupid cave entrance video on youtube just to find them.
The loot is nice from the 2 rares I did find. I quit WoW after playing your unfinished expansion about 2 weeks in so I didn’t have any gear so the loot is nice.
Anyway, island is pretty boring. Quests and story are boring/silly. This was probably supposed to be here on launch day but they pushed it out into a patch to make it look like there are more frequent updates.
I got another reknown quest…things are still timegated a bit for me storywise? IDK. I’m not doing WQ or anything just trying things here and there. If I hear anything else about reknown I’m going to scream. Game is just lifeless at this point. There is no meat to this dish at all. Dragonflight (Besides the awesome new flying) has been some of the most stale and uninspired content I have ever played through.

1.7/10 The flight there was nice. Without the stutters we had since prepatch you finally fixed 5 months later.
They had the chance to make a Mega Dungeon, full of optional routes with different bosses. Nope, we can’t have anything cool! Blizzard is king of Copy and Paste.
As with most of this type of content, it will be fun for a while until whatever it is that it provides is no longer needed. At which point it will just be something to run alts through. As Zereth Mortis was, as Argus was, as Timeless Isle was, as any of the other separate relatively small locations was.
I understand why they do it; it provides catchup gear, sometimes a unique item, treasures, currency, etc. It’s useful - in the short term. But it has a fairly limited life. Its a recipe they have used often and Ion and the developers seem really hooked on it. As a minor patch its…ok. It’s a filler between major patches. Part of me, though, wishes they could come up with something a bit more adventurous, innovative and different. Just, y’know…different.
I am just scared that they might end up making me do it 6 more times for the characters that are geared as well lol. If its made to be BIS until 10.1. /le sigh

Dragonflight kind of solidified my stance on the fact that this team and lead designer are either getting their cue cards from the top brass, or just have no idea how to do open world things.
They are able to have these moments where I think they are on the right track, then go off and kind of go the easiest route.
They can’t even write a quest anymore they give you a pin on the map with no context. Just flying around clueless. Found one cave. There’s a crystal but I need an item to use it. Have to use Wowhead to find the item I guess. probably a addon everyone uses.
Looked around for the entrance nothing. /shrug. Other games are more fun. This is just boring.
They didn’t have a patch like this planned this was supposed to be part of the base expansion. It is very obvious. But they pushed the expansion out early.
