Hello! With the upcoming release of official hardcore servers for classic era I was curious what our transfer options are if our character dies. I know it was stated that we get a free transfer to a classic era realm, but is that any classic era realm? Would I be able to transfer that character to whitemane on the pvp cluster with the rest of my toons? or would I have to transfers to a PVE only server? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

I’m guessing HC > PVE.
PVE > PVP transfers don’t make sense even on Hc because you leveled in a world without gaining and wpvp.

You’re probably right, was wondering if perhaps since this is a new game mode all together I’d they would be a little more open to transfer options but thanks for the insight!

Leveling in HC makes a lot things harder for you, since you can’t die.
Can’t farm many things you would if you weren’t HC.
Can’t farm Honor gear. Barely can do priest and hunter weapon quests in MC…

The argument is that you shouldn’t be able to transfer to a PvP realm/cluster because you didn’t have PvP competition while leveling for HC, but the argument here is, PvE was ALWAYS easier compared to PvP, which is why you couldn’t transfer.
It doesn’t apply to Hardcore, as Hardcore is harder and you CAN’T (you literally CAN’T) farm honor gear, which should single out any argument to not allow Hardcore > PvP transfers.

Well to be perfectly honest, it’s an extrapolation based on the current free transfer situation.
What Blizzard has said is not entirely clear - you will be able to take a free transfer to a non-hc Era server.
HC servers will not be PVP designated in the traditional sense and I believe Blizzard has referred to them as “normal” servers with regard to flagging/pvp. So currently the only free transfer destination in Era for PVE is Mankrik. It is unclear if they will expand that option to include any PVE server but I believe it highly unlikely that any PVP server will be added as one cannot move from PVE to PVP currently in Era. IMO it should remain that way. HC doesn’t appear to be getting any PVP servers but if they did it would make sense to me that only those characters would get the transfer option to Whitemane, the only PVP free transfer destination at this time in Era.

Level to 60 flagged and you get to go to PvP.
Probably why it’s just restricted to that server. If they opened up free transfers to any server, it would apply coming from all servers. They can’t distinguish just allowing it from one destination server (the hardcore one). Or, more likely, they can’t be bothered to make that distinction.
Blizzard has been getting more lax about the no PvE → PvP transfers lately, so it wouldn’t surprise me if you could go HC → PvP era

These are Hardcore realms, not PvE or PvP.
They have even strict rules of engagement when it comes to get PvP flagged.
People are comparing to PvE realms because of similar rules, but these realms are Hardcore.
Whether you can transfer to Mankrik or Whitemane, remains unclear as Blizzard never stated any restriction whatsoever nor did anticipate this.

HC ain’t PVP though and if some don’t want HC PVP then those same folk shouldn’t be allowed IMO to transfer off HC to an Era PVP server.
