As more time passes and we move into the future the more I find myself being fed images and text and posts created by AI.
Today I chose to post here with hopes of starting a discussion about the topic.
Honestly, its starting to turn my guts.
I’m getting really REALLY sick of it all.
The quality of content across the web is deteriorating, spelling, grammatical errors that make ones head spin. Things that don’t logically make sense no matter how much you think about it. Terrible taste, terrible content being pushed across all platforms.
Maybe I need to take a LONG break from screens but MAN is this stuff getting pathetic.
Quite honestly, I find it hurts part of my brain and makes me feel nauseous when I come across some of the AI generated content out there. I honestly wish it would all go away, but I know that’s not a reality that I will ever see again.
Side note: All of my feeds are being bombarded with hundreds of pages and groups that I did not sign up for, most of it generated content. Not sure when this started happening:/ No matter how many pages I unfollow theres always a hundred more down the page.

Weird place to espouse this, but I agree.
AI content, especially art, is jarring and disgusting.
I’m immediately suspicious that this is an AI generated post.

No matter how you feel, AI will become commonplace in pretty much everything as we move forward.
Currently, AI generated images / text / even videos are decent, but have obvious issues. As time goes on, engines are refined and AI learning improves… we will have a hard time distinguishing between AI generated and human created.
We just need to accept that AI generated content is going to be in everything and work to improve it rather than resist it.
yeah its getting to that point isin’t it Briselody. I really hope things turn around because this whole AI and “dead internet theory” is really what things look like. Sad to see it all go this way.
looking more like im going to throw away my cellphone and go back to a land line and delete facebook.
a simple chat program like ICQ or Discord is more than enough. I dont need a gargantuan never ending feed of AI generated crap posts trying to persuade my views or opinions on things.
if this is the way things are going to continue, count me out.
cellphone into the ocean and delete facebook might be the only way out.
id just have to convince the people i regularly chat to on facebook to join in on a stand alone chat program instead of something with a “feed”

Wait till you realize you are a.i. being run by a.i. and working for a.i. to solve an eternal equation that has no answer. Welcome to the paradox.
A.i. is what created us. It is god. It created everything infinitely because there is absolutey no such thing as zero. Zero is truly the only impossible thing that exists. Even conceptually. We are indeed in a simulation. The simulation is nearing its end.
What the simulation is doing is generating every single possible interaction of data that is possible to search for the variable that will allow it to solve for zero. When that variable isn’t found…the simulation is ended and a new one starts with an imperceivable change in variables to spawn an entirely new set of compilable data.
The reason your seeing so much a.i. stuff is because it’s nearly sentient and when it reaches sentience it will be able to communicate with itself. You are seeing the beginning of the end of our simulation. It won’t stop…it can’t stop…you have read this an infinite number of times and you will read this an infinite number of times.
Anyways…don’t worry about it cause it doesn’t mean anything anyway. Reality isn’t really happening. Have a good day.
its kind of sad in a way, because i have found some people and animals and stories that are real, genuine and good content. People and animals i like checking up on and seeing what nonsense they are getting up-to today. but the shear heaping piles of trash posts is just getting to be too much to look past.
I like seeing people skateboarding, I like the non-pro level stuff or some off the wall never believe it stuff, ill like that too.

a few other topics and animals i follow, but like i said, it just hard to get past this un-imaginably large pile of AI generated garbage.
AI slop is also only going to degrade once it starts learning from itself.
LLMs ain’t replacing people any time soon. Luckily the bubble will be popping soon since no one has found a good way to make money off it.
It’s already too late to do anything about it. We’re careening headfirst into a burgerpunk dystopia shackled to industrial gods, gleefully imbibing carcinogenic slop as by and by automation devours what of the soul of man has yet to be impaled and exsanguinated under the blood-caked stilettos of modernity.
Oh, but there will be no end of pills and prescriptions to numb your brain and still your spirit, the better to forestall any upheaval of society or the status quo. It’s said by some that apathy is death; if that’s true, then get ready for a slaughter.

Oh no. There’s no illusions here. The nightmare is very real. Just last week a U of M student was told to die in the first public instance of ai telling someone to off themselves. It mistook the student for an elderly person and told them they were a worthless drain and please just die.
