What do you think how much content will we clear?
You could probably clear MC using nothing but hunter pets.

If you have the gear and coordination you should be able to do all of it.
Except for beating the forums; they will wipe you everytime.

lol the hardest boss (aside from the que boss) thats what we think i hope we can make it a reality!
What do you mean by off spec raiding? Raiding as a spec you “shouldn’t” be (Ret, Enhance, BM, etc) or performing your role as your off spec?
More than likely you’ll find that the further into content you go the worse it gets. We already know MC and Ony are pretty relaxed, lots of people are clearing it with as little as 20-30 people and aren’t making sure they’re pre-BiS either. As new content drops that content will probably ramp up your desire to be the correct spec and further reduce the population of druid or paladin tanks/DPS, etc.
However, if you don’t actually want to be the proper spec, but will still perform the role you’ll probably go further than the ones playing traditionally improper specs.

our guild philosophy is we take everyone that means moonkins, rets, shadow priests, prot pallies, bear druids we think we can clear naxx with a raid full of these specs.

you most definitely can clear all content in vanilla with whatever spec you want to play…
during vanilla we had a group of pallies clear MC/ONY/BWL just to prove it could done… nothing but 40 pallies which means 30 or so ret dps.

See like i think this is epic! that’s the type of things i want to do in classic. like how many times have people cleared these raids optimally? with pservers a ton i think its boring. Weird things are the most fun in a 15 year old game.
Oh you guys will be fine on MC and Onyxia, if you’re coordinated BWL shouldn’t be a problem, ZG and AQ20 should be relative cakewalks. Possibly AQ40 and naxx could give you trouble but the way that people are easily clearing content now versus what happened in vanilla I don’t see why your group wouldn’t be able to clear everything. Again assuming everyone works together well.

100% min maxing and meter watching is what BFA is for
I like this thread. The highest I have any character on Classic is 23. I keep rolling alts as new races, new classes, new specs etc trying to find the one that will really click with me.
And I finally realized the reason I haven’t latched on to a character yet is I am not letting myself play my shamans. I made two dps shamans to try out and love them both but whenever I consult guides that talk about how I’ll be healing in endgame period I sigh and shelf the shamans to force myself to go back to mage or hunter. Mage I find dull. Hunter I love to pieces but I’ve kinda…played a lot of hunter both back in the day and now so I’m craving a change of pace.
I decided I need to just embrace the fact that I want to be a shaman. And accept that I will be kicked out of groups pretty much constantly.
and there is no reason you should be kicked out of groups you don’t need 20 warriors 10 rogues and 10 priests to finish a raid this content (barring a few bosses) wasn’t that challenging

A lot of those specs are incomplete for one reason or another. Moonkin damage isn’t actually bad I believe, but there’s a reason they were called oomkins for a long time. Mages and warlocks get to work only because they had a toolkit to keep their mana going for the fight.
Having a handful of them shouldn’t be an issue though, but if you’re FFA and end up with a lot of people playing those kinds of specs it’ll turn into an issue. To each their own I suppose.
Moonkins also have a tool for mana, its just it can be cast on other people so everyone wants them to use it elsewhere. (innervate)

But that’s the thing we know it may be an “Issue” but is it a big enough issue that it would bar us from clearing content that’s my question. i think the answer is no.
A melee warlock spec simply cannot keep up in a raid, most MC are immune to fire damage.
Maybe once ZG comes out or AQ40.
But ATM some specs are limited do to the majority of damage being fire
