Off-spec Conduits

I play Marksman. Why are Survival and Beast Master conduits dropping for me?
Hunter has 3 specs, and some Hunters from time to time change specs.
I’m not one of them. I always play MM. My loot preference is clearly marked as MM. Yet 2 of my 3 highest ilvl conduits are for Surv. spec.
I have 7 spec-specific potency conduits, and of those, the 2 highest Ilvl are those same 2 Surv. conduits.
I would be if not more pleased, certainly less annoyed if spec-specific conduits dropped for the spec I am playing, or better, for the spec I have marked for loot.

You asked and answered your own question.

So… what’s the issue?

The issue is specs . I am getting conduits for specs I never play.
This annoys me. There is a provision for what spec loot a player wants, seems like it could be followed.
And you didn’t catch on with my first post? As a Shaman, what’s it to you?

I play all 12 classes, so I post everywhere.

You answered your own question.

Your class has 3 specs. People often play more than one. If the opposite thing happened, someone would be just as salty as you are now.

Considering you can just go to your forge and get them out of your bags, why is this a problem?

Seems like you’re looking for a fight that isn’t necessary to have.

People still don’t realize that most people play multiple classes and only post on one. It’s so dumb at this point.

I play everything, but I don’t feel the need to switch characters every time something like this pops up.

Edit: Oh and another thing to this point, this is not a problem exclusive to Hunters. Every class gets this exact same thing.

If the opposite happened, the player would have recourse, by changing loot preference. I do not. And, the higher Ilvl conduits I have received are for a spec. I never play. That is a problem. Not a great problem, but these things add up. I cannot believe you can’t see my point. Have a better day than I’m having. bye.

If it’s not a great problem, then why post about it?

Also… it adds up? No it doesn’t. Go to your forge, use them, gone.

Because your point is pointless and you’re picking a fight over nothing?

Picture this: one day, you decide “Oh, you know what? BM is looking pretty good to me suddenly, but OH DARN, I have no conduits for BM!”

This is a better system overall. You’re complaining over a minor niggle that is actually more beneficially than harmful.

I’m done. Good day, sir.

Because Conduits are a separate loot drop in dungeons/raids from normal loot. You can get a conduit and whatever loot you would have gotten anyway.

It literally doesn’t hurt you at to get all the conduits for the class, not just MM ones.

As I said, it’s annoying. I’m playing MM, and my best and most numerous conduits are for a different spec, one I’ve never played.
It could be argued, that it does hurt me, as my best conduits are for a spec I don’t play, causing my game-play to suffer.
But not by me.
I don’t play so well that it would matter.
It’s a QoL thing. I run my quests, try to keep up, play it for what it is.I earn a Tribute package, or kill a rare, open it, and see a high ilvl conduit , and its for… Survival? Disappointing… As it’s better than anything I did have, but I’ll not be using it.

I’d prefer if it followed loot preference. I could gear up in sequence. If there were the slightest possibility that I would ever change spec., then after I had the BM conduits I wanted, I could switch loot specialization to MM or SV and pick up those, just like you do with loot for every other class that has specs that need different gear.

For quests where a conduit is going to drop, you’d gear up your main spec. faster if the drop was spec. specific.

It’s not as if it is the biggest issue in the world, but I understand the OP’s point.

I noticed a post about how bad I would feel, should I switch to BM and discover I had no conduits?
LOL! LOL! I have NO idea how to play BM Hunter! In such a case, I sincerely doubt conduits would matter to me in the least.
