It only took 254 days, but we have finally received a patch note that may make Odyn’s Fury a powerful and signature ability independent of Avatar.
“ Fury
- Odyn’s Fury’s bleed damage increased by 140% and now deals reduced damage above 8 targets (was 5).
- Fixed an issue that was causing Odyn’s Fury bleed damage to be incorrectly reduced by armor.”

Also says it moving talent positions… as expected. Big Odyn’s Furys into big Bladestorms sounds like a fun time.

Really hope they update this to make heroic throw apply hamstring in pvp since we have 0 benefit from the silence in pvp.

I have always wanted it to apply Deep Wounds, and Deep Wound ticks should reapply a short snare. I also miss the AoE throw.

Just wanted to say I like we can take both Odyn’s Fury and Bladestorm now, but dislike that Avatar is now a choice node with Bladestorm…
Just move Avatar back to class tree.

Functionally I think it’s because they want to decouple Avatar from Slayer and make it the “flavour” aspect of Mountain Thane.
The Apex talents have A LOT of work to do on Slayer’s end to make up the loss from Avatar.
Edit: Revision on this ^^^ thought. As the Apex talents are shared between Slayer/Thane, they can’t buff them to favour reck, because Thane gets it also. They may need to dial tweak some aspects of the Slayer talents specifically to boost any shortfalls. I’m assuming the Alpha testers are out swinging on dummies rn doing some theorycrafting.
These changes have got me frothing for a beta invite though, whenever those go out.

the buff wise it’s almost feels like the Odyn fury we had during Legion once more, only took them the entire expansion to buff it.
but im still not forgive u for removing my dancing blade and annihilator blizzard.
Yeah, have to see how it plays out. I just also think it’s odd that Anger Management affects Reck and Avatar, but not Bladestorm.. adds to more balancing issues.
Odyn’s Fury was buffed three times during TWW, actually by more than it was ever nerfed in the first place and it has been relatively competitive throughout Season 3.
Priority is a lot more complicated than just direct damage though; opportunity cost also plays a huge role in it.
