I feel as though I am in the minority sometimes, especially when the average guild advertisement goes, "Soandso is recruiting. Raid days are Tues/Thurs or Tues/Wed/Sun.
I work 2-10pm, Tues~Sat. I’m lucky that I found a guild that raid on Sunday. That being said, does everyone here have a 9-5, 8-4, 7-3, or do you have an odd schedule as well? Does having an odd schedule affect your ability to find a guild, make friends, raid?
My days off are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
…Not that anyone ever believes me about that.

I would love to have 3 days off, even if the trade-off was working 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week!
You say that, but my commute is an hour, and I can’t skip my lunch. I’m typically away from the house for 13 to 14 hours a day, depending on traffic.
When I worked in casinos I was on Swing Shift and Graveyard. Mostly Swing. Our schedules on Swing were 4-12, 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, 9-5, and 10-6.

You’re preaching to the choir. 70 mile commute one way = 1hr 15 minutes. And that’s going into Silicon Valley…
The only thing that’s nice is that my half hour lunch is paid.

My old guild used to raid Fri/Sat, and now the guild I’m in raids Tues/Wed. It’s a roll of the dice sometimes.
The only thing that stinks is that while I was in my previous guild, I was the GM of the business I was working for, so I made my own schedule. Now I’ve changed careers and am just a lowly associate with an ever-fluctuating schedule.

I switched from Graveshift to Swing. My body finally had enough after 9 years of sleeping during the day for roughly 6.5 hrs, playing WoW, then heading off to work through the night. At least then I could commit to just about any raid schedule where we would be done around 10pm west coast time.

I work overnight. Was hard to find a guild that raided when I could actually do it. The one I’m in now has raids on 3 days.I can usually get 1 in.
