I will not be renewing my subscription if this change remains. The entire reason I came back to WoW was to PVP on local servers. There is no reason for us to be merged with US servers. I am gobsmacked at the shortsightedness of this decision.

This is horrible. It doesn’t fix any of the issues you’ve stated and it ruins OCE PVP.
We have a vibrant and healthy community that doesn’t need this 300ms lag making the game feel awful. I think it’s time to unsub sadly.

Solution for this:
- Add an option for Arena players to only matchmaking Oceanic players to Oceanic players in Arena ( Just like in Hero of the storm, you can choose to queue with AU players or US players)
- But still put Oceanic players into region-wide for Arena season rewards
- This is doable as Hero of the storm has the MMR system too which includes AU and US players.
I think this should be the most feasible solution technically speaking.

As an Australian who got gladiator in each season of original TBC, I was really excited to come back and play without the horrendous lag. Having to predict when people are going to cast on 280 ping in order to land a silence before the spell went off was disgusting. I believe your percieved money saved on server costs (which is the real reason you are making this change) is going to be outweighed by the number of people across the continent who unsub. There is no queue time issue, alliance and horde face each other… it makes me wonder if you, or anyone with any power at BlizzTavision have actually played the game before. 1500 and 2500 players alike get frustrated by losses caused by lag, and the oceanic community is certainly large enough to be its own battlegroup. If you have issues with us not being able to reach certain ratings to obtain gear or titles, you could modify the requirements per battlegroup, during the season itself, rather than before it has even started.
There is so much wrong with your HR post, I could write 1000 words on why you should be fired without even breaking a sweat. 6 hours have passed, this thread has the most traction by far and you think one response is acceptable? What do you do all day besides collecting booster money and laughing at the community. A lot of people have been Blizzard fans for over 30 years (yes, including those of us in OCE) and your pathetic attitude towards player loyalty is woeful. I sincerely hope people vote with their wallets, refund as many products as possible and discontinue purchasing Blizzard products.
The original game developers were MMO players themselves, the people in charge now read graphs/statistics and think they know what they are talking about. “Oh wow, the forums are getting more posts, that must mean we did a good job!!!”
For the Americans reading this post, don’t forget: Blizzard doesn’t care about you either, and the developers you fell in love with via this game are all gone. It won’t take long before they do something that disregards the American playerbase all in the name of a quick buck.
@Kaivax, if you havn’t replied by tomorrow with either the true reason you are shutting down oceanic servers(greed), or with an apology and a revert of this change, I will be doing my best to communicate to people that they should not support this company any longer in the time I would have otherwised been playing TBC.
-oh and by the way, private servers did a better job than you on classic, with a team of under 10 people, blizzard, you are a joke

It’s absolutely no coincidence they do this AFTER everyone buys boosts and they offer a 6 month subscription bonus. They know if they gave ANY heads up whatsoever people would’ve protested before spending money lmao
Absolutely disgraceful actions by Blizzard, when multiple servers on OCE are layered as of pre-patch, once again.
Edit: Let’s not forget that the horde problem extends passed OCE, and players on OCE horde are now reporting up to 2 hour queues. LOL. Brilliant move by brilliant minds.

Remember when blizzard increase the price of the oceanic subscription so that this kind of BS didnt happen?
Please take the feedback up the chain that Oceanic players will wait longer for matches. Intersting how oceanic players always port to US realms but the reverse doesnt happen?
How about making it a 50/50 chance of bringing US players to Oceanic so that y’all get the raw deal on the latency spectrum once in a while? No? Didnt think so.
Yeah competing with players at an unfair advantage due to excess lantecy… sounds like a great shot at earning end of season rewards.

Do you losers not realize that there were no OCE servers in TBC, we didn’t get them until WoD.
The people complaining in this thread are going to be hardstuck 1k rating anyway.
