Hey, I was just wondering what the overall consensus is at the moment, are the majority of Oceanic players intending to actually play on Oceanic servers if and when they are released? my concern is that even if they are released the population of consistent Oceanic WoW Classic players may be far short of what we hope and as a result we have somewhat “dead” servers.
Because of this I am considering playing on the USA servers, purely for the population… I mean this entire game is about the community and if it doesn’t exist then whats the point.
Are you as an oceanic player going to play on oceanic servers? have you considered playing on the US servers at release? I ask this because if there are oceanics intending to play on US servers for the more consistant population, it would be great if we could all play on the same one (I will more then likely be Alliance haha). Also it would be cool to get an idea how big our community is and how many people will be playing on Oceanic servers if they are released.
FYI: USA servers of the Classic WoW demo gave me a consistant ping of around 150ms.

All my current characters are on US servers from before I moved to AUS but I’m planning on playing on the OCE classic PvP server as soon as it becomes available
Hopefully we have at least a couple of each server full, as you said the community is a huge part of the game.

I’ll be playing on the biggest oce pvp server.
Pvping against people with 130 ping less than you sucks.

That’s great the ping is low, the OCE forum has a lot of lag spike posts that were worrying when I started looking into them
Lucky for having good internet, I was getting like 230 ms on the demo. The OCE community on BFA is quite large and I’ll be starting off on an OCE realm for sure.
It has definitely been a common theme since forever, OCE players opting to play with Americans/Europeans for a better experience. If everyone gave an OCE server a chance it could be great I think

Completely agree, hopefully all the OCE players give the servers a chance and we have the large OCE community together with that sweet 50ms ping
we will have a huge pop early, i’m more worried about 5-6months in

I think all servers regardless of region will have that same concern and possible issue
I live in Korea, so regardless my ping is in the mid 200s. On a good day it might be 150. My priority really is activity. When is everyone awake? I’ll be on that server. If its rp-pvp i’ll be ecstatic.
I will try for oceanic. There has to be enough of us.
I really wish blizzard would give us a blue post on this topic, it seems like they have been decidedly quiet in regards to this question…
I guess thats my fear, a dwindling population… and I know this is a long shot (and dont get me wrong i am perfectly fine with just getting classic) but considering they may release further “classic” expansions if this is successful the oceanic community would be even more diluted.
That is one of the reasons I am leaning towards a US based server, I mean dont get me wrong though haha a 50ms server is the dream!

I share the same worries OP, my plan for now is to begin playing on whatever the OCE PvP server is and if the population is seriously lacking after 6+ months I imagine we would still be able to transfer in classic servers and I’ll go to NA.
I hope we don’t end up in a situation where after a year there are only a couple of hardcore guilds on each side, and while that may not be the case NA servers are going to be far more populated regardless. I don’t want to watch classic streams of people in NA and feel like I’m playing a dead game again, if I had to I’d go NA but have high hopes that OCE can hold its own with many people on both sides

It’s a community angled towards the Aus/Nz regions and hope that people have a more close to home source for information and finding friends for the up coming classic servers.
