Occam's Razor: Was the game purposely designed

…by the Blizzard developers so they would be able enrich themselves selling boosts? Maybe that’s why nothing has ever been done about boosts. There are some small, easy changes, that can fix the problem(s) but too many people making money off of boosts.

The amount of work needed to make this game perfect (for me) could be done in a hotfix.

Someone’s gotta be telling the Blizz devs to do these things.

What exactly are they enriching themselves with? Gold? They’re devs. They can spawn gold if they want. Game time? Store items?

I think he means Bliz as a company.

Players buy tokens ($$ to Blizzard) and then use gold to buy boosts (gold to other players). It’s the same reason Blizzard hasn’t fixed the faction imbalance, they make a TON of money off it

In other shocking news, today scientists have learned that water is wet, fire is hot, and the bear does in fact poop in the woods

The notion that Blizzard’s business model relies on most of their playerbase being SO BAD at the game that they have to pay others to play it for them, is ridiculous.

I don’t think it was their intention but now that they’re receiving the income they’re not too motivated to change it.

are you one person switching alts to complain about carries? because I can’t believe there are that many people who have their noses out of joint about what others do in the game.

PVP was absolutely designed this way on purpose. It’s not a question of “bad” - half the playerbase has to be below the median, that’s just how statistics work.

Blizzard locked the gear behind a rating that was set so that only the top 40% of players could even get the 1st upgrade (207 gear last season). Obviously more people paid money for boosts than actually pvp’d, it was literally the only way for >60% of the players to get a single gear upgrade

I am really doubtful many people are buying tokens for gold for carries.

And carries have been in the game from the start and they never had a problem with it.

PvP is an early adopter system. The people who did it the first week got a head start and stayed ahead.

That’s how many PvP games work. Because you’re competing against the other players. Not just in matches, but in the entire gearing meta.

I don’t think as much carries more legendaries, mounts, BoEs, etc.

Legendaries are pretty cheap, just find a crafter and offer them your mats and a tip. Game’s worked like that since vanilla. A huge chunk of the cost for rank 5/6 legendaries is the Korthite. Don’t you have your own Korthite you can give to a crafter in exchange for a legendary?

BoE’s are pretty bad this tier. Some of them are for domination slots but don’t have domination sockets.

Mounts… who cares?

I thought that until the whole longboi drama. As for the rest, there are a lot of people buying tokens. Maybe it’s just flasks and repairs but it’s still people buying tokens. The problem with that is others start to feel they need to buy the tokens to be competitive.

I have never felt the need to buy a token.

What does that mean in the context of my post? Some people feel compelled, Breva doesn’t feel compelled, ergo no one feels compelled?

No, just wondering what on earth is making feel “forced” to do so.

Where did I say forced? That’s your words.

LOL. “Compelled” then.
