Obvious evoker laziness

I made a evoker for the first time yesterday. I was amazed at the amount of customization, the cut scenes, the story. Then i got to the combat where i spammed a singular button to one shot every mob i encountered. Continuing the story i was faced with a blue dragon, one leading the blue dragonflight it seems. The story characters were torn about having to fight their own brother. As they move forward to slay a brother, for the sake of their entire race, the fighting starts. I think finally a fight i can use my abilities on to feel out the class. I then one shot the boss while auto running through it.
Disappointed i finished the story. Fast forward to approaching orgrimmar i enjoy the cut scenes until all the people at the front gate march into oblivion and disappear. I fly to the top where, ebyssian? Idk it was all so lame after i one shot the boss that i didn’t really care for the story any longer, but im talking to the big dragon and he transforms into a tauren, claiming he chose the visage because he appreciates their way of life. He then tells me i and i alone have to chose my visage form as every dragon does, i immediately start to think about what part of the horde my preservation evoker should belong to, thinking of the tauren and their druids that preserve the lands of kalimdor.
I press the button to choose my visage getting ready to customize my character and it auto defaults to this tiny, skinny, short, HUMAN. With scales on his shoulders and body. Smaller than a blood elf. The tauren visage looked so much cooler and horde like than i did. I was completely let down and felt like i was playing some gotcha phone game where so little effort was put in. Im sitting at my computer greened out of my mind (i have a medical card) and i was able to see what should have been done out of just following the story. How has someone that does this for a living missed this obvious problem that my medicated, non game dev self seen clear as day.
Then i went to see my tier gear, IT DOESNT even show on my dragon form. Its awesome and i cant even look at it while im healing, because i HAVE to be in evoker form to use my dash heal. Why even make the class at this point.

Evoker is an absolute trash that does not belong in WoW. It looks goofy as hell, plays dumb, and the lore behind it is even worse. I absolutely cannot stand them (I actually ignore their presence when I see them on screen). Blizzard of old that designed Demon Hunter, Death Knight, and other badass classes (including the Pandaren, btw, which is still badass), would’ve not approved that freak of nature. But it was part of the “Danuser-era”, which explains why we got it.

And to those who play it, nothing against you guys; this isn’t on you. It’s on the design team at Blizzard.

I would recommend some line breaks.

So…
Male visage is a Blood Elf and female is a Human. You would have seen this, customized from the character creator.

Not sure how much of this is sincere, and how much is RP.

I actually like the class, the dragon form could be a bit more swole, but i actually really liked everything it had to offer, the game play is cool too, but those features i listed above really killed it for me.

The ones who are just constantly floating around so they don’t have to walk really grinds my gears.

Thats irrelevant to the point of the post and you’re toothpicking it. I promise its all sincere. I want it to be cool. I was very excited to try it and ive been loving the new xpac.

But my mom says I’m cool. :stuck_out_tongue:

I like them I just wish gear showed over the dragon form.

True, those were some of the more obvious points to nitpick.

Truth is, most of these points, other than the scaling, have been the topic of suggestion threads for the past two years, since they were introduced. We all want more options for them, including choosing your visage form, and being able to see your transmog.

As I mentioned the scaling, that issue started with TWW prepatch (and possibly Pandaria Remix) where Evokers now start at level 10. Low levels of all classes will one-shot enemies, to help new players get acclimated. Seems weird to feel this powerful when starting out, especially considering how hard the game gets as you near 80.

IMO it would have been better if we could select the alter ego race based on any (or at least most) of the races available in the faction.

When you first make the character the visage part is standing behind it, and you make both of them at the same time. This way you know what your visage will look like. This is the only visage for Dracthyr.

You can transmog armor while in both forms to get either the same appearance or different appearances for each form.

You just went through the starting area, which was a much higher level zone to begin with. Now that the race can start at a low level, they lowered the mobs to match the lower level and get you through it quicker so that you can play the actual game.

We are not human, we have pointy ears, we can have horns in our visage form, it’s not human.

I totally love my Dracthyr. It’s my favorite race. I can’t wait to also be able to play a Dracthyr warrior! lol

Evokers are great as well. And we have a Lot of customization for our forms. Colors, color mixes, horns, armor… And for our visage there is also a lot of customization.

We aren’t Tauren, we are Dracthyr. Our visage is not like any other on the game. Closest I supposed would be Human, but we are different, we are not human. Our visage is not human.

Now, Belves and Nelves… Well, that’s pretty close for baseline… Yet there are diferences.

Blizz created a unique race, they don’t wish to merge it with the other races.

Neltharion created Dracthyr, he did not create Tauren (as far as I know…) lol

Dracthyr at this time are limited to Evokers, that will change in Nov. But for now, we are all Evokers, we have 3 specs, but all are Evoker.

Different races can’t be Evoker, that is unique to Dracthyr.

A few years from now, if Blizz decides to merge everything into a melting pot so that all races are everything, with no unique individuality, then you might be able to be a Tauren Evoker. But I think that’s a bit far fetched. (Or have a Tauren visage.)

Dragons are way powerful, and can choose from all the races or create their own I presume for visage. Dracthyr are not true dragons, we are dragonid. We have a ton of power, but only in some areas.

Because we do have dragon blood, we can chose a visage, but we are limited as to what that can be. We are not as powerful as a true dragon. And our abilities are somewhat limited due to being a lab creation.

Sure Blizz can toss out our identity, our “legend” but then it goes to a melting pot with no individuality. Our race has a history, a place. We now are free to choose our future, but we are not full/true dragons. Thus we do not have full/true dragon abilities.

  1. Male Visage is the Belf model, not Human.
  2. You are not smaller.
  3. Your description of doing the starter zone is basically lowbie damage scaling high which it has for ages.
  4. You were able to customize your Visage during character creation, so acting like you didn’t know what it was is just disingenuous trolling.

None of these points are a good argument, thank you for pointing out very obvious things we were all aware of prior to waking up today.

Welcome to leveling in old content.

It should be customizable just like the tauren visage chosen by the npc. Its not trolling, i legit thought it would allow me to redo it after the story led me to that point. Why you would advocate for a less role play aspect in an rpg is beyond me.

You mean like your entire trolling rant? Yep. We got it.

It is. Your entire post was nothing but a nonsensical rant.

Dracthyr are not dragons. We’re lizard experiments. Blizzard is not making all of those customizations for every single race. And this race has been in existence for over two years. Acting all Shocked Pikachu Face in a ranting dissertation where you don’t even understand how lowbie scaling works either does not make me want to take you seriously.

You are the troll. Please move along and let us discuss on how to make the game better.

You don’t get to decide who posts where.

Blizzard is not wasting time to make more Visage forms any time soon. And acting like you don’t know how it works just to create drama is disingenuous.

The amount of time they’d need to spend on Dracthyr customizations for other races would be akin to creating an entirely new race. And no, it should not be just picking a generic race. Dracthyr visage is unique to their experimentation. It shouldn’t be half baked laziness. Period.

You came here with a bunch of dramatic ranting just to say, “I wish there were more Visage forms.” Everything else you typed was nonsensical at best.

If you don’t understand the difference between Dracthyr and dragons, while not understanding the unique nature of their visage, then I suggest learning that first.

Have a better day.
