Obvious Botters in Every Zone

There are clear and obvious botters in a majority of zones. They are literally everywhere. Some are leveling botters that just kill mobs, some are golden pearl botters killing mobs in azshara, and there are TONS of bots in high level zones that ride around, stop, and dismount at every dreamfoil/ silversage/plaguebloom spawn regardless if there is an herb there or not.

Some may say they are just innocent players that don’t play the same as you, but watching them for a few minutes makes it obvious by their movements and actions that they are just being controlled by software and scripts. The same ones have been there for weeks and months. If caught, they don’t even get a permanent ban, instead they get banned for like 7 days to 3 months max then are back to it. Ridiculous

Which is it, every zone or the majority of zones?

Can you imagine, if players had the power to outright ban people that they thought were botting, i’d pay to see that.
If only there was an easy solution
(and no, perma bans don’t work as well as you think they would it’s far more complicated than that)
I miss the days we had GM’s come into the world space and (expletive) with botters, seeing a GM spawn Ony on top of one was Hilarious.

Seriously Blizzard has never taken this issue seriously enough.

This is Classic WoW now, you get a chance to change things you didn’t before, to make sure that the game stays healthy.

Not only ban these players, be quicker about it. Your delay makes it seem like you care more that they are paying a subscription than the integrity of the game.

You must be new here.

I haven’t noticed this, but it sounds pretty lame. I’ve heard people are reporting, but week after week, nothing is happening.

Is that right? At least something is happening. Is there a policy such that if you get banned 7 days the first time, you get a more severe penalty the next?

No, I’ve been here since 2005.

I just don’t buy the excuses they give about why it’s more difficult than it seems, and that they want to reverse engineer and catch them en masse.

So this is their chance to change things they have ignored in retail for too long.

Perhaps you could found a company that specializes in bot-detection software. You could become quite rich licensing it to gaming companies

There is no need for that, they already have it. It’s their code that is being botted.

It’s also their choice to not do anything about it.

Ok

Please remember that Activision has cut staffing at Blizzard down to 6 people, the company president, 4 executive vice-presidents and one person in payroll to cut them checks. They’re doing the best they can with what they have left.

Blizzard is really pathetic in this department. Clean up your game

My eleven Chinese ghost herber bots deserve a champion.

All you can do is report them and get on playing the game.

If you’re actively looking for bots, you need to consider your reporting some players that aren’t botting. Some are obviously bots, I get that. However the ones picking flowers and don’t bother responding to every whisper from the “bot police”, like myself, those reports are a waste of the GMs time and will extend the time actual bots get reviewed.

Play the game, report the obvious only, and stop treating this like doomsday. It’s only a game…
