Obsidian Edge

The Horde population was pretty good at first, then … it’s pretty dead now.

You have dungeon groups begging for people to fill the last DPS slots. What does that tell you?

It tells me that the hardcore fad is dying as expected.

well, Hardcore is antisocial so of course the server is dying. this is a social game.

Anyone who rolled on Obsidian Edge with the hopes of the server lasting made a huge mistake. Obsidian was nothing more than a short term day 1 hype hardcore server. Once those initial characters died, those players left the server and moved onto something else.

Ally side is still super active, come on over. It’s a blast!

That is good to hear that OE is still playable for Alliance. That goes for most servers due to how imbalanced population wise Alliance is, which is hugely beneficial for Alliance players.

The bigger issue than the server choice for the OP is that he picked Horde.

Everyone alliance. Hordies ugly. Well, except some of those cute goblin girls, but otherwise ewwwwww.

Salv and Kings is just too good. There’s no point investing hundreds to thousands of hours just to permanently nerf yourself on day 1 by picking Horde. Particularly when the main reason to play is for updated and more challenging raid content.

O.E is extremelly active for Hardcore players. 5 guilds maxed out, that is 5000 toons spread in 5 guild trying to level to 60 without dying.

If different and it is fun and opens a totalky new game filled with horde trying to grief any chance they get like the pvp flag quest missing diplomat in dustwallow marsh.

Or people kiting dragons…it is fun to play a game were you could lose everything.

On the other hand that means no auction house and no grouping so basically it turns the server in a solo game…but i don t mind there are plenty of other places if you don t like hardcore.

How is ally side super active when they’re not allowed to interact with people outside HC?

Tons of HC players and non HC players. Couldn’t believe how packed the starting zones where. It’s awesome!

Yeah, I logged in yesterday and it was much worse. I am done with SoM, though I really enjoyed my time here. I haven’t had this much fun leveling in years, but it died pretty quick.

Godspeed young priest.

You will be missed.

As Seancho mentioned, there’s plenty of non HC players on O.E. There’s at least five non HC raiding guilds and I know at least 3 of them are 10/10 MC, one is 6/10 and don’t know about the last one. It’s definitely not a mega server, but a good size. I wouldn’t be surprised though if some of these guilds combine over time to continue progression as someone made a good point that since this is seasonal, the amount of new players coming in will be pretty tiny compared to people leaving after certain phases or a million other reasons.

But at this point in time, there’s good activity (in my view). I’m having a blast with the guild “The Foundation”. We just did MC 10/10 and Ony last night in like 4 hours and get to enjoy the next 6 days playing with alts, instances, pvp, farming, etc.

Don’t be afraid to try O.E. if you are non HC if you’re looking for a PVE server in U.S. West.

Oh, and this is for Alliance side. Horde is yeah, pretty much dead from what I’ve seen. It’s like back in classic 2019, I was on the PVE server Mankrik that was pretty much 90%+ Horde and loved that server.

The first HC guild took Rags down last weekend and I think the 38 people that survived can also now do raiding content normally too right? Those that stay at least. I might have heard some of them wanting to try BWL without dying. I’ve never raided past MC so don’t know how likely you can get through BWL w/o dying lol.
