No they can’t
What logic makes you think that?

Are we destroying our own resources?
The SHGY ambush strat alliance does has never really seemed, at least to me, like a viable strategy. It’s extremely easy to spot and call out long before the horde ever get to SHGY, or even SFGY for that matter. If the horde knows it’s happening, we can ball up and just rush straight on top of you with sappers and mages, and you really have nowhere to go. We wipe the ambush, contest SHGY and THEN go back to contest SFGY. Then everyone comes back to the choke and starts pushing alliance back down the road. When I was playing a lot of AV, that was the strat we used when we’d queue up as a 5 man group and tried to lead things. And yeah, I never lost a game doing that.
Myself and some friends have employed similar strategies with…mediocre success. One difference we have been doing is if the IBGY attack happens to fail, we have the whole raid( or as many people as we can get to listen) hide by the harpy cave until the horde raid clears the choke and begins attacking SPGY. At that point the whole team just rushes straight to drek and attempts a pally pull. Even if this fails, at least it stops a turtle from even happening.
Been saying this forever. Seems like that is how it should have been intended in the first place. Super easy fix. I honestly was surprised when I first learned that horde spawn at cave when dying at IBGY.
Yup, it’s literally the only reason we lose, contrary to what the horde “pros” think.
The logic is that by depriving the alliance of anything from AV; they stop queuing. This means that the resource (AV) is destroyed because without alliance, you can’t queue matches. That’s a scorched earth mentality.
But I can’t blame the horde, because the queue is already ridiculous. If you’re expected to wait 1-2 hours for a match, it’s natural to pillage every last drop you can out of it. Horde doesn’t have the luxury of a 5m queue. Even during the AV bonus, it only got down to around 1h 30m. Alliance was probably instant. They hit the button, they get a match. We hit the button, we can go watch a movie from start to finish before a match.
if the racials are OP why do other bgs have close to 50% win rate between both factions when talking premade vs premade or pug vs pug?
So why was alliance win ratio likee 95% in av when it first came out?
Don’t kinkshame him
Interesting post, thanks for sharing your information and going out of your way to actually try.
Hmm did u not do AV then?
I was actually horde then, the reason was we didn’t PVP.
As a horde player than we literally ran by all 40 alliance without fighting, we grabbed Galv and did LTs while alliance rushed Drek. The horde mentality was honor per hour there.
For evidence of this they actually have meme videos on YouTube, it’s really funny how it played out, the videos depict it perfectly.
I did i got exalted within the first 8 days of the BG opening. Even in the games where we tried to counter attack them theyd wipe us and push into our base take 0 tower 0 gys pull the warmasters to the waterfall and kill drek in 8 minutes
I played plenty of games where we tried to rush van and skip everything like alliance. we literally get to van after they are at drek and by the time we attempted a pull they killed him
OMG, you talk just like when you were on Dragonmaw. I like it.
Yea when we did it as horde we just ran by.
But now that horde play the map, they only need to attack SHGY and they auto win.
We can’t keep IBGY because of the cave Rez.
If I want to RP, I gank lowbies in Hillsbrad or dispel people in Felwood, that satisfies my anti-horde RP itch, I’m not gonna waste time in AV for that.
The reason alliance won back then was because we could premade 40 que…make sure all 40 have epic mounts, riding to boots AND carrot JUST TO SQUEEZE PAST horde who could already be across field of strife. Cause you know its not horde favoured at all
Alliance can indeed win… if they actually try instead of saying ‘OK GUIZ FARM REP’ from the start. Rep gains are much higher in a 30 min win than a loss.
All I’m going to say is that it is hard to win an AV game as alliance for a couple reasons:
Most of the ally doing AV are only there for the rep and don’t want to do it again. So they would rather take an “L” instead of a “W” because it’ll “take to long” when our queues are fast enough to not justify a win.
Another reason is all the players that DO want to win, are a very small amount, and aren’t playing when they actually DO have a chance to win, darn time zones!
Your comments/advice are good and mostly accurate - but what we are seeing in our battlegroup is a game exploit and violation of the code of conduct, you mentioned it in passing in your post. “Holding The Druids” by keeping all of them engaged in interaction, posting someone there to do nothing but “Hold the Druids” so people can turn in unlimited amounts of scrap/etc for rep is both an exploit and is adversely effecting gameplay for others. Part 2 is the COC violation. These people care nothing about the battleground or winning and stop the druids from moving to the FOS - Blizzard has to put a stop to these violations asap. It’s not a minor thing in our battlegroup. Happens 10 of 10 times and results in Alliance loss and lower HK count,- I’m writing Blizzard to put out an edict to stop these clear violations of the code of conduct and the continuing use of the “Druid Hold” exploit.
Yep, great strategy. By holding them you can release them at the same time as the ram riders. Separately they usually die quickly but together they can help turn the game around.
I hold them whenever possible, it’s a great feature that Blizzard put in.
