Well thats just it…Ion said pretty clearly the OBR is also for players who might not want to learn their class/spec and just be able to play the game…albeit not exactly top tier performance.
so if the OBR does better than you do…and you dont want to compete with it and learn your spec…then just roll with it…OBR mission accomplished.
Personally, I wouldnt sweat it.
Im using my own rotations and my own macros…i cant do that OBR thing even if I couldnt beat it on DPS output
TBF feral is one of the WORST specs to use obr and rotation assist with, you might as well just play a different spec if you need to use either unfortunately
or dl hekili instead, its much better than blizzards attempt
Yeah I am just speaking about my own personal experiences with OBR and what it does to me psychologically. I know some people love this feature. I don’t want to take away an accessibility feature.
That’s because outside of boss fights you already only need one or two buttons lol. Which is why front loaded specs like ret are the kings of leveling content.
Wake of ashes, hammer of justice, divine storm, the occasional toll. That’s your entire dungeon rotation as ret.
See? Its easy to learn and know when to ignore the tools and do what makes sense.
I’m not really sure what you are looking for here though. You have tools to make it super easy and automated, you have tools to help you as you learn, or you can just play without any tools and do your best. But you don’t seem to like any of those options.
Isn’t the only point of OBR to make people feel more welcome? Why are you insulting me personally when I am not arguing to take OBR away I’m just speaking on my own personal experiences as someone who is indeed the target audience.
You are not gimping yourself playing manually, you are just not good. I mean seriously there is no sugar coating it, if you are losing to one button in low level content, it’s because you are bad. And be honest, do you actually expect yourself to be good on a potentially new class while levelling?
In lower content, OBR isn’t going to be as much of an issue since dungeons and world content tend to be extremely forgiving. As you graduate to higher level content however (IE M+) OBR becomes less worthwhile since it has a number of limitations over and above the GCD penalty. As such you should be using it to try and figure out how the rythym of abilties and then extrapolate that to a Non OBR format.
I wanna know what low level dungeons you’re getting where you even have an opportunity to try any sort of rotation. Because I’ve recently levelled 3 toons from 1 - 80 and most of those dungeons were obliterated by a DH flying way ahead of everyone or a lvl 12 twink. No one else gets to even play.
OBR is sort of like Maxdps in that it will prioritize the “best” attack in a given situation. The limitations of course are that it doesn’t include defensives, racials, buffs or burst windows so I’m not sure it can actually parse more then like… 35%.
You shouldn’t. Stay like you are. You need to at least accept if not understand that your particular learning curve is flat. Eat the food that people went out and gathered and then others prepared so you’re ready to do your part and clean up afterwards. Enjoy.
Oh yeah. People can definitely tell. I watched a streamer who’s a pretty good player (around 3500/+18) get kicked and flamed from a +10 because he was testing the OBR. They called him a bot with a purchased account and threatened to report him. LMAO
You aren’t pigeonholed. Learn positioning with OBR and some of your rotation. Switch to the new highlight next cast that blizz also just added and learn some more using that. The game isn’t forcing you to use OBR.
One push, one spell. It has a general rotational priority, which works out better or worse depending on the class, and which changes depending on how many enemy targets are in range. It does not use items, trinkets or major cooldowns. Whenever you press it, your GCD activates as normal, but is 0.2 seconds longer.
All it does is let you spam one button to do a 60% effective normal rotation. This is a massive boost for people who regularly gray-parse in the single digits though, so all the people who green-parse at 45% are worried that their lessers will soon be joining them in the rarified ranks of the just-below-mid-tier.
